My friend and I stopped for lunch at Deccan Spice, expecting some run of the mill indian restaurant food. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised!. I lived in Hyderabad for half my life. Eating here got me back memories from half a life time away.

We started with gobi manchurian and kharapodi gobi. Both were fresh tasting and nicely spiced. Then had malai kofta with bullet naan. The malai kofta simply melted in my mouth. After that we ate chicken dum biriyani. The tenderly cooked chicken meat was falling off the bones. Flavorful to the last bite. Combined with mirchi ka salan, it tasted very authentic. It took me back to my younger days of motorcycles, second shows and after hours biriyanis near Nampalli station.

I live about an hour's drive from Deccan spice but i will be taking my family there in the next couple of weeks. I know it will be totally worth it.

I order mutton biryani one piece of mutton and all rice. I never been like this place before. This is the worst place I ever been.

I had butter chicken with garlic naan. It was very good. Atmosphere was nice and we had very attentive service.

The food was flavorful and delicious! The QR code on the menu linked to photos and a description of the yummy options. The portions were plentiful. The server was friendly and took the time to communicate the spice level. We will be back.
