This is the best place for custom cakes in this area. I have had excellent experience every-time I ordered cakes here. I ordered 3 cakes from them on my wife’s birthday since 2023 and every-time it was a custom cake.
They always do an excellent work as they hear out on your requirements and offer perfect service. The 2 ladies there are awesome. Great service, delicious cakes and competitive pricing.
In addition to that, their cafe is a cute place with great decorations and a warm and nice eating area.

I don't think I can properly expressed how good their snickerdoodle cookies are as well as their one bite cheesecakes. If you can go to this location, GO! My only complain is you don't know what will be available unless you go. They should have their daily menu posted SOMEWHERE but this isn't that big of a deal because all of their options are good.

I love bakeries! Just not this one. This seems to be a Roanoke staple, but very few of the items are scratch made. The pineapple upside down cake was just Duncan Hines yellow cake mix. The cake balls were also box made as well. Customer service was good. I can say that much.
Mugs café and bakery are very good at what they do! They made my wife and I's wedding cake last year, which was so beautiful, and tasted amazing! This year I ordered a red velvet cake from them for my wife's birthday, and the quality/taste of the cake is honestly so much better than any store bought, or homemade cakes I've ever had. Would highly recommend this place for any celebratory occasion.

Ordered my daughter’s birthday cake here and HIGHLY recommend! I provided some inspiration pictures for what I was thinking as far as decor and then let the bakery work their magic. They created the most AMAZING, beautiful and delicious birthday cake!!! It was everything I dreamed of. They were able to do an ombré effect on the inside cake layers and the exterior was covered in beautiful edible pearls. It was absolute perfection!

The cheesecake bites are top notch! I love them. I also enjoy their beautiful cakes and cookies! My kiddos enjoy the chocolate dipped brownies. If you are vegan or vegetarian they also have an amazing veggie sandwich. I absolutely love this place. One day I would love to do one of their classes but I haven’t gotten a chance to yet!

Mug's Cafe & Bakery is hands down the best place to visit if you're looking to have a good laugh and enjoy some delicious treats! Recently, we had Mitch go here as part of a lost bet, and he had to dress up as a blushing bride. Kim and Lainie were absolutely fantastic in helping to make this moment as embarrassing as possible for Mitch.
They went all out by making a "Just Married" sign for him, and the looks of astonishment and amusement from other customers were priceless. Mitch, with his full bridal gown, veil, and bouquet, looked absolutely ridiculous and couldn’t stop smiling, (and blushing) clearly enjoying being the center of attention.
Kim and Lainie encouraged Mitch to pose in various hilarious bridal stances, wave to passersby, and even had him pose around the café. They made sure to capture every embarrassing moment, and their playful spirit really brought the experience to life.
Not only was the atmosphere fun and lively, but the cupcakes were also out of this world – truly the best we've ever had! If you ever want to create a memorable and laugh-filled experience, Mug's Cafe & Bakery is the perfect spot. Thanks again to Kim and Lainie for making Mitch’s public humiliation both delightful and delicious.
