The only reason it got three stars instead of one was because the brewery redeemed the experience somewhat. We ordered food at The Foodery and waited 10-15 minutes for one cheesesteak with one order in front of us (which was chicken tenders and fries). The employees working there went between The Foodery and Kid Kakes (I think that’s what it was called). They were much more interested in it being social hour than working. Foodie here from all over and stumbled on to this place after shopping near by. Came to check out the vibe and variety of eats available… individual vendors seemed good but the atmosphere was ehhh. Whom ever is responsible for the common space missed the mark despite the overall potential of the surrounding area. Id come by strictly for food, but keep expectations low in regards to the facility. Feels DIY/mom and pops striving to be ‘hip’, but ended up just being cheesy...
The 206 is such a great place on Oak St. I can never decide which vendor to get food from because they are all delish. Go eat or hang out on the patio with a beer. Such a great atmosphere and fun things to do all week long! Bingo, karaoke and more. There's going to be a book signing soon AND they are working on a cigar bar. Win Win. A must try in Roanoke.
