Nice place- plenty of parking & places to park an RV & or pitch a tent & miles away from the city life- however the owner was a little abrupt with tapping me on the back while I was rinsing off some trail dust on some kitchen utensils with a portable power washer and he grumpily said:" YOU CANT DO THAT HERE" & offered no solution & I said yes sir" as he scampered of & then proceeded to call the event coordinator to complain further more as if to raise even more concern -then I was asked to just dump the grey water in the ditch 40' away. There are better ways to ask people to do things without making any physical contact albeit the owner was quite aged & from another generation when contact like that was accepted. Ooh and btw the last row or stake by the covered area west the breaker kept going out 3 days in a row and by that time I was using my own generator and kept getting blamed for tripping the breaker - after the coordinator from our event found out where the issue was originating from , no apologies given, of course. But this was just my take and a neutral place to vent.

15+ years of shows, arguably still the best small music event campgrounds in central texas. Spacious, has reasonable privacy, and incredible trees!

One of the greatest weekends of my life. Nice lil river to wade in.

Wait staff was great. The food is mediocre. We ordered coconut shrimp that came with no dipping or cocktail sauce, so ketchup was the only option. Grilled chicken sandwich was flavorless and had shredded lettuce instead of leaf lettuce on it. The onion rings were good, but 6 small onion rings are not worth $8. The atmosphere is trying to be nice, great view out the back, but you can see the less than stellar kitchen through giant windows(why?!) And the kitchen staff in their everyday clothes. They also have a mannequin up on a high ledge dressed as an Indian and a few other weird Indian themed items that make no sense. Thought they had Sunday brunch, but it was 5 items on a theme of eggs and sides. Very disappointed. The drive out was pretty.

They recently combined the steakhouse and icehouse under one roof and one menu. Not all of the icehouse menu made it over to the new combined restaurant but they had the classics. The chicken tenders are literally 4 whole chicken breasts... HUGE. The Mac n cheese was so perfectly creamy. The cheeseburger was amazing, I'd definitely get that again! The steakhouse options are pretty pricey and the wine list was outrageously expensive for Rockdale, Texas. We liked this experience but were definitely surprised when we showed up to eat at the icehouse and instead had to eat at the steakhouse.
