$36 dollar steak and a pre made salad had been sitting in fridge for hours plus fries that never got cooked correctly. This was very poor quality, just a soda. No wine or anything and you want $45 dollars for Shrimp lmao ? more like a strip club friday ribeye. Hold the hair. Won't be back.

I loved seeing the cook hand cut my ribeye. Not only that but I felt extremely welcomed to the establishment. Not only did the cook come out to see if my steak was cooked perfectly but the manager did as well. This is a gem of a place.

I used to love this place. I don't know if ownership has changed or what, but I know that the quality of food and service surely did.
My steak was uneatable. I've never had a NY strip so tough. It was like boot leather. The vegetables were cold. Not room temperature, but cold. The tea tasted old and sour. The server acted like she had somewhere else to be.
Unfortunately, I will not be going back until someone else decides to pickup the place and bring it back to life.

Apache Pass is a hidden treasure! There really is nothing else like an open fire cooked steak. Always cooked beautifully and great prices for as large of a steak as you get. There are not many choices, but if you're looking for a steakhouse, this is it. The egg rolls are also incredibly delicious if you want an appetizer. They are waiting for the liquor license so no alcohol is being served yet but you can byob. The pond out back is a pretty addition to the atmosphere, and I hope they can get some live music on the stage behind the bar as soon as they get their liquor license. We will happily be back again and again

This place has the potential to be the go to steakhouse in that happy little area between Austin and College Station. But it isn’t there yet.

I made Mother’s Day reservations that got completely screwed up. We had to wait an additional 1.5 hours from when we scheduled. We weren’t aware the place was BYOB so I had to drive 12 mins down the road to fetch beverages for everyone, missing out on quality time with the family. The waitress, bless her heart, took the table’s order and walked away without taking down 3 out of the 10 of our order (I do get we had kiddos away from the table exploring outside so I can see how that was maybe confusing… so she’ll be the benefit of the doubt). Multiple folks got sides they didn’t ask for. Chicken fried steak batter was pretty bland. My steak was overcooked. My wife’s shrimp from her surf and turf was cold.

But… on the plus side… my mom was happy with her meal so I’m overall pleased. It was Mother’s Day after all. The ambiance there is lovely. It just smells great and the open fire is super cool. The outdoor area is awesome. The burgers looked awesome. The steak quality seemed pretty good and properly seasoned.

I want to love this place and I wish the owner the best to make this place what it can be! I’ll try it again in another 6 months or so and see if there’s an improvement.

This used to be our favorite steak house but I will not be back. My $30+ New York Strip was uneatable. I have never had a New York Strip full of grizzle! The dinner salad was warm & unappetizing. They now only cook on Oak, before they had pecan, mesquite & oak coals going to choose what you liked. Horrible experience. When showed all the grizzle in my steak all the manager would do is not charge me for the $10 appetizer. The steaks are now besides being ultra low quality are not as thick as they used to be. Everything but the prices are on the cheap. Sad to see what has happened to my favorite steak house.

If you like yourself you will make the drive and check this place out. I had one of the best steaks I have had in a LONG TIME!!! the egg rolls are so good and the atmosphere is banger. The open fire grill is so cool and makes such a difference on how the steaks taste. We will be back. The waitress Maria was so attentive and really made the meal even better. ?

We enjoyed our visit here. It just reopened recently. We went on a Thursday night. Loved the atmosphere. It was a slower night. The service was perfect. I don't remember our servers name but she was great! It's byob right now while they are trying to obtain their TABC license. The Steakhouse and ice house are in separate buildings, and she said the ice house should be opening once they get the TABC worked out. We loved how we could see the steaks being cooked on an open flame right in view. We chose to sit where we could see everything happening in the kitchen. They do have a nice patio area overlooking a pond. I didn't get pics of that because it was dark out when we were there. My son ordered his ribeye rare and mine med rare. They both came out med rare. He was okay with that but he would've preferred it rare. The flavor was good and it was a nice cut of ribeye. I really wanted to love the southwest egg rolls. And they would have been perfect, but the cook fried them, cut them, and then put them back in the fryer. I watched this process. They came out burnt and extra greasy. I work in a restaurant, you should NEVER cut something open and put back in the fryer. Had they not done that, they would have been perfect. I hope the owner reads this and addresses this because I LOVE SW egg rolls. The loaded fries were good but could use a bit more cheese and bacon. Also I love crispy Brussels but they need some type of sauce on them. A sweet w/ a little bit of spice sauce is always nice on fried Brussels. The side salad was nice and fresh. The CFS was good. We will be coming back, as they are new and working out the kinks. It's def worth giving it another try. I'll update this review after my next visit.

Excellent that they reopened the restaurant, I love it a lot, I suggest adding asparagus to the contours, I love brussels sprouts but they could add asparagus, I also suggest they open the liquor bar, many of us want whiskey or beers. Congratulations to the new owner for opening again! excellent food, incredible attention from our favorite waiter and pleasant atmosphere!
