The food was good service was good the owner even works there and that's good cuz that means that he's tied to the community and he knows what they want and what they like !!!
We took our food out to a local park because the inside had a bit of a smell. The food is delicious though! Rockdale is the middle ground to eat with family from Bryan so we're always looking for good food there. Gonzales was a pleasant surprise! We had beef enchiladas, beef fajita tacos, flautas and their chips and queso. Everyone liked their food. We will definitely eat here again.Parking: Interesting parking with a bit of a dip in front.
My wife and I walk in and stand around for a long time without being greeted or acknowledged by the staff. Eventually a lady yells from across the room something I can't hear, due to the loud music playing. We assume she is telling us to find our own seat. The waitress was friendly, that is literally the only good thing I experienced here. The food was almost cold including the steak I ordered. My wife's food was the same. It's as if they didn't cook our meals but had them sitting around somewhere. Food was gross and nearly cold. Worst Mexican food I have had anywhere. I left without barely touching my plate.

This is our go to Mexican restaurant in Rockdale. I don't think I've ever ordered something off the menu that wasn't absolutely delicious. We always order extra of their homemade flour tortillas to take home with us. All their sides- refried beans, charro beans and rice are soo flavorful! Love the owners Marcella and Martin. Can't wait until they move to the new location for better parking!
Love this place. Great service. Great food. Great prices. Great atmosphere. Barbacoa tacos with authentic/homemade corn tortillas--wow. Awesome bar selection. And yeah, try the house drink, the speedy Gonzales. Highly recommend.

Great place! I was just passing through town and looking for and saw this place still open as I passed by. The fajitas were great and so was the service! I talked to the owner for a little while too - can’t recall his name - but he’s very kind. I definitely recommend this place if you’re on a long drive and looking for great Mexican food.
