Our server Cayela was the best! She made sure that we were 100% happy with our food. My husband was jealous of my salad, so she took his back and replaced it with one just like mine. And she was a delight as well!

Another fantastic dinner at Saltgrass Steak House in Rockwall tonight! We’ve been coming here for years and have honestly never had a bad meal—the everything is consistently cooked to perfection, the sides are spot-on.
Our server, Caylea, truly stood out and elevated the entire experience. She was hands-down the best server we’ve had at any Saltgrass location. Polite, genuinely warm, and attentive without ever hovering—she anticipated what we needed and made everything feel effortless and enjoyable. Her great attitude turned a solid meal into an outstanding one.
If you’re in the Rockwall area and craving good food with top-notch service, this place (and especially Caylea!) is worth the visit. Highly recommend!

Not really gluten sensitive. We went because my 3 year old can't have gluten and they have a gluten sensitive menu. It started well with the gluten free bread. He wanted the chicken and on the dedicated GF menu it was written on the menu that we can order it grilled and nonbasted to keep it safe. We waited a very long time for our food, not unusual when ordering GF, and just before our food was supposed to come out, the waitress let us know all the chicken in the kitchen was marinated so that wasn't an option. Our food came out and the 3yo was left waiting another 10 minutes for unseasoned steak bites. It was just really disappointing and a poor experience for him. We don't eat out a lot because GF menus are difficult to find so when we do go and have a bad experience it just sucks extra hard.

Just had my last bad steak at Salt Grass steakhouse in Rockwall, Texas. Paid approximately $40.00 for a 16 oz Ribeye. How could I go wrong???? I don't know if I am even capable of picking a ribeye steak in a grocery store, Walmart included, with the amount of gristle I found in this steak. Even the fat cap was chewy to the point of not enjoying the steak at all. It was cooked great but the gristle was unbelievable. I left well over half of the steak on the plate and did not want it put in the take home box with my wife's filet. This should have tipped off the waiter but no questions were asked. You can't take home a steak like that and expect it to be better when you heat it up at home. So needless to say, Salt grass will never be a selection the me or my family will ever make again. I previously stated, I can get a better ribeye steak at Walmart for a lot less than I just paid. This ribeye was way below the SELECT grade of meat. Salt grass brags about CHOICE and PRIME but this steak was obviously absent when the meat grading was done.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Saltgrass Steak House as they were one of the few places open during the recent ice storm and the experience exceeded my expectations from start to finish. Haley, the bartender was outstanding — she was attentive, friendly, and clearly knowledgeable about their drink menu. I was so cold a requested a hot toddy (not probably a common option) my cocktail was perfectly balanced and crafted with care, and I appreciated how quickly I was served even during such a busy time.
The food was just as impressive. My steak was cooked exactly to order — tender, flavorful, and seasoned beautifully. You can truly taste the quality in every bite. The sides were fresh and generous in portion size, and everything arrived hot and well-presented. The bread alone is worth mentioning — warm, soft, and the perfect start to the meal.
What really stood out was the overall hospitality. The staff checked in consistently without being intrusive and made sure our table had everything we needed. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it a great spot for both a casual dinner and a night out at the bar.
If you’re looking for excellent steaks, great drinks, and top-notch service, Saltgrass is a fantastic choice. I’ll definitely be returning soon!

It's a steakhouse, y'all. Has It's quiet corners and louder center section.
This location has a well trained staff, attentive management who's not afraid to check in with customers but also make right any needs, get a broom, keep a positive attitude if the waitstaff drops a tray. No biggie!
Food was delicious, plentiful, timely and consistent to the brand.
The music wasn't too loud, thank you!

Feb 142026:
Good service today, but the 16 oz ribeye tasted lower quality than usual. Maybe Medium came out Medium well, because it tasted like a New York strip cooked too long.

Mar 20th visit was great. Came later than usual since wife and I brought the toddler. Waitress was attentive, followed up to see how we were doing multiple times. She listened to my request to get the fatty sides of the ribeye cooked well. Every entree came out well except the fries, half of it looked old. The other half was great though, and that was fine. Overall, would definitely return.

Previous review: Rockwall's best waiters and waitresses can be found here. Although I do think they rotate them out too often. The service you get here beats out the majority of other restaurants in the area. I like my Ribeyes medium or medium rare and sometimes they get it wrong. They will always fix their mistakes to your liking. Just don't go eating a whole steak and then complaining.
