Such a great lunch today. We were a party of about 12 and the food and service were great. How nice to be served by pleasant waitresses.

Chicken Fried Steak! It's our destination restaurant. Had a great meal there yesterday.

Haven't been here in several years but we used to love going here. Not anymore. Just terrible all around. The waitress was on her phone about 60% of the time, had to flag her down to get her to get service. I asked if they had Miracle Whip and she said yes. She put Cool Whip on my food. The meatloaf had a can of stewed tomatoes on top, just straight out of a can, nothing to it. My husband and I both got mashed potatoes (instant) but his tasted sour and mine didn't. The chicken fried steak was undercooked. The salad had 1 slice of cucumber and 1 cherry tomato on iceberg with the little cup of dressing only half full. There was no dinner roll with our dinner, despite what the menu said. The black-eyed peas were mushy with no flavor. At least the tea was good. There was not one single thing good about our meal. No drink refills offered. Had to go ask for our bill to pay. Such a shame because this place used to be so good with fresh food. No more.

On the road to the Texas coast is a hidden treasure called the Highway 77 Cafe. The walls are lined with photos of military and on a Saturday I saw many male customers as well as families there. Food is what I call pure southern country. You won't go away hungry. Great wait staff. Plenty paid with cash .

Very friendly and helpful staff. So many choices on the menu. Three of us in our party and we all loved what we got. I would definitely stop here to eat again if I were in the area. Atmosphere was comfortable. Highly recommended.

We stopped to eat here back in April on our way down to South Texas to visit family, and I just wanted to share what a great experience we had. We arrived after breakfast hours, and my grandparents were talking amongst themselves about how they were craving breakfast. The staff overheard them and kindly accommodated us by offering breakfast anyway. The food was great, we loved all the patriotic décor, and the service was excellent. If you’re passing through, please stop by!

Had the meatloaf, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and greens beans. It was all excellent. The meatloaf had stewed tomatoes and onions which was an excellent touch.

Breakfast was incredible! Best gravy I've had (sorry, grandma!)!! I had the scrambled and didn't think I'd be able to eat it all. I did! Great atmosphere, veteran friendly and great service! Will be back next time I'm down this way for sure!
