Clean Eatz

I’m not normally the type of person to make reviews – especially negative ones. I’ve been purchasing the weekly Clean Eatz meal plan for one year now, so I feel I am entitled to share a thorough opinion on this particular store as well as some thoughts on the overall company.

For starters, this location has some wonderful owners who I believe truly care about their customers. They have always been open to feedback and willing to help where they can, though I feel the main body of Clean Eatz may prevent some of the suggested changes.

Most importantly, Clean Eatz does not and will not disclose full nutritional information on any of their meal plan meals or ‘Grab-n-Go’ boxes. All they will list is total calories, fats, carbs, and protein per dish. This isn’t a serious issue if you trust the ingredients used in the meals, the claim of no added salt, sugar, etc; however, the problem arises when there is advertising towards an older demographic that oftentimes must watch their sodium intake (most people should anyways), as well as other vitamins. I’m pretty sure this is a requirement from the government, but the labels on the meal plan boxes simply do not. For example, one of the breakfast meals I truly enjoy is a huge chocolate chip waffle with two egg bites and some bacon thrown in (sometimes); this meal almost certainly has a TON of sugar, but that’s not listed anywhere for the consumer to note. How is this appropriate for a company claiming to aid with weight loss and a healthier lifestyle?

P.S. When I spoke to management about this and requested additional insight, as it’s important to many people, I was told “that’s a great idea!,” then nothing was done.

Moreover, the biggest issue I have with the company throughout the year has been the steady degradation of food quality. The quality and/or sourcing of its meat (chicken & beef in particular) has seen a gradual decline the last six months or so, which I feel is partially due to economic hardships that the business may/may not be dealing with. This is accompanied by the fact that the last several months there have been increased costs per meal, which makes no sense to me as a regular customer given the quality issues. Chicken has become more fatty, more tendons, less meat included in each meal, they go bad faster, et cetera.

Perhaps the final straw for me was today, and I am more than happy to take partial blame for this for not reading the labels sooner; however, after purchasing some Clean Eatz “protein” ice cream bars in the store’s freezer, I opened one up at home and really liked what I had purchased! That was until reading the label to find (see image) that the ingredients used have been PROVEN to cause cancer, birth defects, and more. How in the world can you call yourself a “clean” food store while distributing bioengineered foods to your trusted customers? This is disgusting, and honestly I hope more light gets shown on this because the idea of a Clean Eatz kitchen is AMAZING, but the execution is deplorable at this point.

I’m deeply saddened to say, but I believe I will no longer be a customer with Clean Eatz until this is resolved with their manufacturer(s) and Corporate learns to value human health over some easy bucks.

Note, I have submitted two separate inquiries with Corporate about these concerns and have received NO response.

I'm really impressed! Delicious food! Friendly staff and a great environment. It felt fresh and clean all the way around. I loved the variety of already premade meals ready to go and the option to order meals for the week is great!

The food is absolutely delicious. Perfect portion sizes with the low carbs that I’m looking for the service was amazing Tina was so friendly she educated me on carb counting to help maintain my diet. This is a much easier and less stressful system than my own meal prepping I was doing. I highly recommend this place. The staff is amazing. I believe if you stick with the system, you will definitely see the results you are looking for in your journey for a healthier lifestyle.

I really loved the establishment here and the cashier Emma her service was amazing I loved how she informed me of any questions I’ve had about the food and how kind she was and she was very enthusiastic about everything highly recommend!!!

Recommended dishes: Buffalo Chicken Wrap

I come here 2-3 times a week because the food is great and healthy. Anything with bison or burnt turkey ends is great. The sweet potato fries they have are perfect.

Friendly and helpful staff as well as a great atmpsphere. Would recommend to anyone.

Vegetarian options: Vegitarian grab and gos are available, and anything on the cafe menu has a vegetarian option.

Kind and friendly staff! The owners are a lovely couple who give you a personal experience and take care of your needs. Fairly priced, great healthy and tasty choices with new vegetarian and vegan friendly options coming! Love that they have already packed take home options. Definitely will be back for their black bean burger!

The food is very simple, healthy, and reasonably priced. It’s quick and easy and quite tasty especially for college students. It does come very extremely under seasoned which is typical for stereotypical healthy food. Just add your own seasonings + sauce.

10/10 across the board - service, food and atmosphere exceeded my expectations.

Highly recommend this place if you want to stop poisoning your body because they have really healthy and nutritious options here.

The Blacken Salmon wrap and the veggie was delicious. The veggie cup was so fresh and crisp. Even the water they offer is dang good without any sugar but very flavorful. Complete healthy and a life changer. Wish they had one in Bastrop, Texas.
