I should have read the reviews before ordering from this place. We ordered the mongolian beef, vegi egg foo young, orange chicken, hot and sour soup and fried wontons. The mongolian beef was too soft and had almost a jelly like texture. The sauce was bland and salty. If you are a fan of egg foo young, you probably know that it's supposed to be heavier than it looks. The patties should be dense and well fried. These were not. They had an almost scrambled egg texture to them and they were only lightly fried. The brown sauce was bland. The orange chicken tasted like orange juice and had no heat or flavor other than sugar. The hot and sour soup was eggs and tofu only and was extremely bland. The wontons were decent, but they left out the sweet and sour sauce. The gentleman manning the counter couldn't even muster a smile and appeared to be completely apathetic. We will never order from this place again.

This is our go-to local place. I usually get the Cashew Chicken with Veggie Spring Rolls and the wifey gets the Spicy Chicken Lettuce Wraps or Hibachi Chicken.
Dine-in, o get the Sesame Tofo with the sauce on the side.

I have been eating at Great Wall for 40 years, the original location was on Rutland Drive near Burnet road. Esther was the owner. Then they moved to Pflugerville off of FM 685, they use to be where Krab King is now. Someone else has taken over the business since they moved to Palm Valley road (hwy 79). The food is always fresh I never had a bad meal this is the only place I will eat Chinese food at. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. I have eaten at a lot of Chinese food in my life and I lived in Okinawa Japan for 3 years and Great Wall is the closest to what I use to eat in Japan and the flavors are there. Both my husband and I love Great Wall. Excellent food.

Great customer service. The crab rangoons were really good.
Great Wall Chinese has become one of my go-to spots in Round Rock when I’m craving comforting, flavorful Chinese food. The pork egg foo young was a standout—crispy on the outside with a rich, savory gravy that hit all the right notes. The pork lo mein had a great balance of flavor and texture, with just the right amount of sauce. I also tried the sautéed broccoli in hot sauce, and it was a pleasant surprise—fresh, perfectly cooked broccoli with a kick of heat that wasn’t overpowering.
The portions are generous, the staff is friendly, and service was quick.

We have now ordered takeout a few times and eaten in the restaurant once and would recommend. The staff is always friendly and very attentive when we ate in. All of the different foods we tried so far have been hot, fresh and flavorful every time. I was also very impressed by the way they packaged our meal. One day I ordered sesame chicken and the sauce was put on the side so when I got it home my chicken was still very crispy. If you’re dining in or getting it togo Great Wall Express does a great job.

The food was not good today unfortunately. I got it delivered and the only thing that was good was that it was hot.
The Rangoon filling was SUPER salty - inedible
Orange chicken wasn’t spicy by order request & very dry/over cooked
Rice was mushy & overcooked
There were 4 pieces in beef order - the rest was undercooked veggies
The lo mein had no cabbage in it & bland.
I don’t think I’ll be ordering or dining from here again.

I recently dined at Great Wall Express and was thoroughly impressed! The highlight of my meal was definitely the lo mein—it was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of flavor and a wonderful texture. Each bite was a delightful experience, packed with fresh vegetables and tender noodles.
The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is friendly, making it a great spot for a quick meal or a relaxed dinner. I highly recommend Great Wall Express to anyone looking for delicious Chinese cuisine. You won’t be disappointed
OMG.. this place is the best. Amazing food, I had the Szechuan chicken and lo mein. The flavors were spot on, super fresh and generous helpings. The lo mein was the best I've ever had 💕
