This review is a little late as my wedding was in September, but I have to commend Kayla on her amazing job. I had issues with a previous bakery causing me to contact her kind of last minute. She was so kind and squeezed me in. Her prices were also very reasonable compared to other bakeries. I sent her a photo of a cake for inspo and she delivered. She arrived on time and even placed a spacer I wanted to add a little more flare. I went simple with the flavor as I'm a simple girl. My husband and I weren't able to try the cake until the wedding so we had a few candid "taste test" photos for our first bite. We were pleasantly surprised with the texture and flavor. The almond was amazing! Thanks so much Kayla!

Our cake for our wedding turned out amazing!! Kayla took our vision and executed it to the highest degree - the look and the taste exceeded our expectations. We had a two flavor cake (Chocolate + Fudge, Almond + Raspberry) that was frosted as one massive cake - it was super fun but looked elegant. Could not recommend Kayla more!

My husband and I tried several cake companies before finally deciding on Kayla's due to the high number of incredible reviews, photos on her website, and her photos on several wedding vendor websites that looked similar to what we wanted. To say I am disappointed is an incredible understatement. I have attached a comparison of the original picture I sent her in December of 2023 and took into our consultation appointment vs. what my husband picked up on our wedding day. I requested a hunter green ombré into white single tier cake with gold brushing around the bottom. She was great in our consultation and ensured my husband and I that design would be no problem as she had done it before. My husband picked up the cake today on our wedding day. When he showed it to me, I genuinely thought it was a prank. The color and detail is nothing like what we discussed in our consultation. The green is clearly SEVERAL shades lighter than we discussed, much closer to a Kelly green than hunter green. Nothing about the design is ombré in any way. She suggested the buttercream icing during our consultation because it would be easier to blend the colors and give the ombré look. Nothing about the design is blended, you can clearly see where the line of green icing begins. I truly believe the wedding cake is an integral part of the design and this is not at all what I envisioned or what we discussed when we met with Kayla. Obviously, I was pretty crushed by this. I do understand we had a contract in place and that the retainer is non-refundable. I also understand there is a clause stating the design and/or colors may vary due to artistic differences. I think the photos speak for themselves in that this difference is much greater than a slight variation. This is a completely different color scheme. My mom reached out to Kayla after seeing the cake and was understandably very upset. Kayla told her the cake looked similar to the one I requested and when my mom told her it didn't and it needed to be fixed, Kayla said she had other cakes to deliver, and at least I had a cake. Personally, this showed such a huge lack of concern for clients on what is supposed to be one of the best days of our lives. Even though she told us she took the problem seriously, I heard her laughing on the phone call as my mother was yelling at her about how embarrassing the cake looked. I was crying over this cake while trying to get ready for my wedding. I trusted her with a very important piece of our day and she truly failed me. Personally, I feel like she made a lot of excuses as to why the cake looked nothing like what I asked for, saying she didn't make the cake in the examples I provided so obviously it was going to look different. I'm not stupid, I'm aware differences in design are going to happen with anything custom made. However, what I received was nothing like what I asked for. She did offer to refund a small portion of my total, which she didn't have to do, so I did appreciate that. Ultimately, I wish I had read the lowest reviews before ordering because it appears others have had similar experiences.

My Daughters wedding day is today, she meet with Kayla months ago went over everything with her and gave her a picture of the cake she wanted. First cake in the picture. Well when my son in law picked up the cake in second picture, you can image our surprise. Cake looks like something a child made in an easy bake oven. Cake doesn’t look like the cake my daughter wanted and paid for. When I called to talk with Kayla she told me it was an inspiration photo, that the cake she made for my daughter looks like the photo. I ask Kayla if she could make another cake by 3pm , Kayla told me that she didn’t have time because she had 4 other cakes to be baked. ( if as a business owner and you know you messed up on someone’s wedding cake and an important day, you do what is right) As my daughter is in tears and upset, not knowing what to do because we can’t serve this cake. It’s horrible and just ugly and people are laughing at this cake. When I told Kayla that we have to buy another cake because of the cake she made . She laughed and said why the cake is fine. I ask for her to refund the money back to my daughter, she said she doesn’t refund money. My daughter got the cake she ordered why get another cake . As you can see in the second picture the cake looks nothing like the cake my daughter wanted. As a mother when you see your daughter crying and very upset on a day that should be the happiest, you say things and well just yell. To make a long story short Kayla made my daughters wedding day a complete disaster refuses to refund her money for a cake we will not be putting on the table, that will go in the trash. Thanks for ruining my daughter day! Thanks for making her cry on her wedding day. Very bad business and a horrible baker!

Incredible wedding cake experience with Kayla Knight Cakes! We got married at The Vineyard at Florence in November 2023. From the start, we enjoyed the cake tasting and consultation. VERY large samples with plenty of delicious options! Our hearts were set on red velvet cake with cream cheese icing, and it was perfection! We wanted a very simple and classy pipe design around the cake with a few delicate floral pieces. The personal touches we added was our cake topper from Etsy and a very special small figurine replica of our dog Lilly, also from Etsy. Kayla was amazing with communication, and clearly helped us execute our exact vision for our cake, timeless and classic. Not only was it a beautiful cake, but it was delightfully delicious one. We have tried bland or not up to par red velvets before, but Kayla's homemade recipe was amazing. You can have either the icing or cake base on it's own and they are delicious. We cannot wait to dive into our top tier 1-year anniversary cake! Safely packaged in our freezer and stored properly. Thank you Kayla, we highly recommend you!
