We just want to say thank you for such an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious, but what truly touched our hearts was your kindness. When you learned that our daughter just turned one, knows some Spanish, and uses sign language, you went out of your way to buy her a book about making tortillas. That was such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture.
It meant more to us than you know. You made our family feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. We will never forget that kindness — and we are so grateful. Thank you for not only serving great food, but for serving it with such a beautiful heart. 💛
We will see you soon again❤️

This was my go-to since having moved to Round Rock 2 years ago. I've eaten here no less than once a month in that time. But, something has happened since their move and quality has really gone down the last 2 times I've ordered from Recuerdos. I gave them the benefit of the doubt first time, but now for a second time, poor quality. I need to find a new go-to.

I hate doing this and updating my review with much lower ratings, but here we are.
My wife and I loved coming to the old Recuerdos that was next to the Piano Bar. It was cozy, quaint, and homey. The food was amazing. It was a Christmas tradition to gobeat there and then walk around downtown.
Well, they moved into some shared spare a little closer to 35 (next to Golden Chick). There is an arcade in the same space, so it's extremely noisey from all that activity.
The food is also not the same. It is clear they are sharing a kitchen with this Backporch Social place. All of the food comes out in takeout containers and just isn't good. My beloved cheese enchiladas were overcooked and half stuck to the aluminum pan in which they were served.
I'm really upset that it's not what it was. I hope they can straighten things out, but it isn't likely I'll be back because the noise and atmosphere will never be what I can handle.
Original review from Dec 2024: Amazing little place with a simple menu of Tex-Mex classics. Always love the cheese enchiladas!

Little whole in the wall restaurant that hits the spot some days. Reasonably priced food is good and service is ok. Was going to leave 4 stars but had to make up for previous review giving one star for a jar in the food. Read what manufacturers are allow to put in your store boxed food. A great place to drop in and get a quick meal.

We have ordered here many times and it was wonderful. Today we ordered food, got it delivered and there was a black curly hair right on top of the enchiladas. So disgusted and so disappointed.

We love your food and freshness. However we notice a lot of salt in your food. Could you please lighten up on the salt shaker?

Recuerdos offers a warm and cozy dining experience that lives up to its name — every meal feels like a fond memory. The Mexican dishes are full of authentic flavors, from the perfectly seasoned meats to the homemade tortillas. The service is kind and welcoming, making it a go-to spot for comfort food and great hospitality.

Would not go here if you are looking for authentic tex mex food.. Its more Tex than Mex. Fake tortillas.. Potatoes had a strange taste.. beans had no flavor. Try other places. This is not mexican food. They should rebrand. They have a target audience but it isnt true mexican food lovers.

The holy trinity, chips, queso, and salsa, were delicious. The main course was a different story. Our table had ordered a mixture of enchiladas and fajitas. The plates came out piping hot, but the flavor was disappointing. The fajitas reeked of some kind of BBQ sauce and did not taste. The typical tex-mex flavor was not present.
