It's not the greatest, but not the worst. Last time I was there, the tortillas were pretty bad. Tasted like cheap store bought. If they remedy this, it will make a huge difference.

Edit: just went there again and the food was much much better. Tortillas were great, I think they make them on location now.

Rio Grande Tex Mex in Round Rock is one of my frequent, favorite lunch spots. The Mexican food is really good and always served fresh. The staff and owners are super friendly and the prices are very reasonable, particularly the lunch specials. Highly recommend this restaurant and love supporting local small businesses like them!

I put in an online order on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. I put my card information and the total was around $16.05 including the tip. When I got to the restaurant, they had me pay again, which I thought was misleading because I had already put that information in on the online order. The total ended up being $17 after tip. Today, March 15, I looked at my bank statement, the total amount charged was $22. This business was not honest with me when they charged my card. I definitely not recommend this place to anyone because they are not honest people.

I saw the reviews of the stars 4.3 so I wanted to check out this restaurant.

The restaurant was clean.

I ordered beef chalupas. They had nacho cheese sauce on top of it, that’s different it’s usually sprinkled cheese, it was topped with lots of lettuce. Not to much meat. I also ordered bean and rice for a side.
The beans were cold and not much flavor. The rice was worn again not much flavor.

My husband ordered beef enchiladas it came with rice and beans.

No tortillas.

So overall the food was okay, it wasn’t amazing it was just good.

Very simple.

I was not impressed, however again not that bad. I was surprised it wasn’t that busy especially being 4.3stars👀

I won’t be going out of my way to visit, however if I am in the neighborhood I would visit again.

I enjoyed the food. I ordered El Original. It came with a puffy corn tortilla called a prima. The prima had melted cheese and a small serving of guacamole. I had a Mexican martini. It was delicious.

Great place when we can afford to go out to eat. It was well worth it. Their beer Rita's are awesome. Food is excellent. Have been going to Rio Grande here in Round Rock for many years.

Rio Grande has very great service, their service personal they take of you. The food that I have eaten has always been great.
They also have a private back room for private parties.

Kid-friendliness: Everyone is welcome.

Wheelchair accessibility: They accommodate for that too.
