I visited this little shop in Round Rock with a strategic few menu options. I was able to swiftly place my order, got my food, and everything went off without a hitch. However, I felt that the prices were a tad steep for what was available. I paid out nearly $9 for a sandwich, fountain drink, and fries, which I believe was overpriced for what you get. The food was decent, but it didn't quite live up to my hopes. Staff are great, speed is good, seating outside but I just took it to go. I've attached some photos for your reference.

The fries are the best in town!! Cooked perfect! Just the right amount of crispy on the outside and cooked perfect inside.
Burgers are great! Real old school. No fancy stuff just a great burger!

Meh. Feels way too expensive for normal burgers. Took a while to get our food out as well, but it's a burger/fried food joint so you kinda get what you expect. Nothing bad, just not really good
I ordered a hamburger (all the way but no ketchup), fries, and a medium drink. At the price of $9.00. The hamburger was super small, the fries were old and cold and the drink Didn't have hardly any ice so it was lukewarm. I was very unhappy with what was supposed to be my supper. And changed my mood on shortstop. Which used to be good. Not anymore

Short stop burgers is not as good as they use to be.... I lived in Austin all my life until moved at age of 18... I would be waiting to go to Austin just to enjoy short stop.... burger was cold and fries was stell.... just was not the short stop I'm use to

Shortstop has always been a great place for a decent burger or chicken fingers. They are fast and friendly and delicious.
I noticed they have catfish on Friday, it was Friday so I thought what the heck give it a try. That is something I have to do more of! The fries were hot and fresh and the catfish was the best I have had in Central Texas in years! The breading had a nice light flavor and the fish was really flavorful.
