Have been a customer since this location opened. Now living a bit north of it, so not getting in as much as we would like. Unsurpassed and always fairly priced. Please open one in Temple or Waco!

I’ve been here 5 or 6 times and I get something new each time and they have all been fantastic. Very fair prices and generous amounts of food.

I haven't ever eaten there but when I go to Specs next door. I smell it and don't want to go to Tarkas. Just thought I'd comment since Google insist I review it.

Wow! This place has surely dropped a notch in its standard. A perfect example of what can go wrong with your restaurant chain if you franchise it to owners who don’t have an understanding of your product. Food has no taste.. like no taste. If you are from South Asia or have been to some authentic Indian restaurants you will know right off the first bite. Either the owner is completely disconnected from this place or has no taste for Indian food. Tarka daal had no flavor, no tarka. Lamb biryani was dry and no flavor. Had to put some salt and pepper on it to finish it off. Lamb tika masala was the same story. The naans are pre cooked white bread that they warm up on a frying pan.. food tasted like as if it came out of a sausage factory . I don’t believe the chef knows how to make authentic Indian food. Staff and service was good. I hope this gets noticed and the owner makes some serious changes in flavor and regularly eats at this place to maintain quality control. Lovely people and nice location but food is no good. Sorry!

The aloo gobi dish was not tasty.. aloo and gobi both a bit undercooked and hurriedly slapped with curry paste, no oil of any kind for the masala to get absorbed in the food and so it smelled raw.. the roti was really sad. glad i didn't order a second dish. had to eat something to satisfy my hunger pang and ran away from this place.Must say the person at the counter has a good sense of humor.. i only wish the food was half as good.

I like to drop in for some naan and mint chutney, maybe some other random stuff. Everything I've had there has been good, and everyone I've even talked to about Tarka likes it, so they must be doing something right!

What happened to Tarka? The food used to be so full of flavor. Now it's just butter and blandness. It's not bad, but Tarka used to be my go-to when I had a craving. Even the garlic Naan was meh. This was my first "disappointing" experience with Tarka, and I hope it was just a one-off incident.
