Permanently closed. Owners moved to Costa Rica. Too bad as we wanted to try it. Many places closed or reserved for private events

Came for dinner around 6pm, 4 people, no reservation. Delicious food, great service. Highly recommend the Chicken Fried Steak and the Ridiculous Chicken Sandwiches. Bernardo was our server, so lovely, fast drink service and good quality bar food. Parking easy in the back, casual. Salad was fresh and crunchy, nice balance to our fried main meal.

Early lunch today. Menu restricted due to Antique Fair. Blueberry lemonade very good (alcohol). Frito pie was very good. Fritos with chili and cheeses. Enough to split with someone at your table, but they charge you a split fee. Bernardo was our server. He was kind and quick with our drinks and food. Restaurant was clean. Bathrooms clean Full bar.

I've eaten here twice now when coming to Round Top for the antique show. This place looks like a two story house converted to a restaurant. The food has been great each time I've been here. The service is very friendly. Highly recommend the BLT. I'm sure I'll be back next time I'm in town!

My sister and I had lunch here after a morning of fun shopping in Round Top. Our waiter, Alfredo, was awesome! He was attentive without hovering. The menu had a lot of fried options and there is a bar. We had a simple lunch but it was delicious! We started off with iced tea and fried okra which was so yummy and hot (temperature wise). It was served with ranch dressing. We ordered the Tavern Salad with grilled chicken and balsamic vinegar dressing and it was one of the BEST chicken salads of my life. Lots of yummy and fresh veggies (NOT iceberg lettuce) and a generous portion of chicken was was served sliced and warm. See my mouth-watering pics. There is outside patio seating as well as inside. The interior is cute and quant. Not a fan of Unisex bathrooms but overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

I went here for a girls night last night and had the WORST experience! I ordered fried catfish that was not cooked at all and an old fashion that tasted like they put cheap sweet whiskey in it instead of a proper whiskey or bourbon. Not only was the food and drink awful. But the service was bad too. When we tried to flag down our waitress to let her know about my undercooked food, it took us nearly ten minutes! Everyone was in the back kitchen talking and not doing their job. The cook came out but hung out by a corner and looking around to see who called out his food. He never came up to me to apologize or asked how I was feeling after consuming his raw dish. I never even got a manager to our table. They did comp my meal, which I’m appreciative of. However, I wish someone of authority would have spoken to me. And I also would have preferred if I got my exact change back and not the rounded up version of it. Needless to say, I will never be back here.

The food was delicious. The waitress was very nice and did a great job considering...definitely need more wait staff. She was working the entire restaurant (inside and patio) all by herself.

Nice atmosphere and great food! Like homestyle cooking. The chicken fried steak was delicious and so were the fried pickles.

We were in Round Top on Monday exploring the small little town. We didn’t realize that hardly anything is open on Mondays and Tuesdays! Teague’s was one of the only places open at all for dinner and it was still daylight, so early dinner at that.We had the salmon & chicken fried steak. Both were prepared well and it was a nice meal. The outdoor deck is so nice to sit on and enjoy the sunset & drinks.I will say we did probably have to wait over an hour for our food but there was only ONE guy there doing EVERYTHING! I felt bad for him and he was upfront telling us it would be a bit of a wait.

-How do you burn the inside of a chicken fried steak? They managed to do it.-Ordered their specialty Bloody Mary with bacon, no bacon. Wife ordered fried pickles and you could brine a Turkey with all the salt in the breading.Don’t believe the reviews. These 5 stars are clearly locals who haven’t been out of the county let alone the town to try good food….

Just driving through and stopped to get some food. great food, great service. fried pickles 10/10 , different from the classic breading.

Revision, 11/28/21, based on ownership response to previous review, 7 days ago: I appreciate the response. Knowing additional facts, the early closure now makes more sense (perhaps hostess could have been a bit more explanatory, vs. "we had a busy day"). I applaud you for being customer-feedback-conscious and committed to overall service quality. Keep up the good work, we'll definitely be back.11/21/21: We've previously eaten here 2-3 times. Very positive experience each time, great food and service. Tonight, we were driving from Bastrop to The Woodlands, made it a special point of leaving with enough time to stop for dinner here (they close at 8:00 pm on Sundays). We walked in at 7:10 pm. After waiting at hostess station for a bit, the server finally emerged from the kitchen, informed us that the kitchen was closed. When I asked why, she replied "because we had a really busy day". Sad to say, don't think we'll be coming back (for fear they'll decide to close early again).

Lunch today was excellent!! The chicken fried steak was amazing and you can’t go wrong with the queso! I recommend eating here if you are ever in Round Top!
