Deno's Kitchen & Spirits

place was closed. come on in open sign was on the door. but, everything else totally dark. we were giving it a try in spite the sketchy reviews. oh well .. sketchy.

I had driven by this restaurant a dozen times thinking it looked like a neat place so one evening I had tome to kill so I stopped in. The place had a great vibe when you walk in. There were a few people already dining but it wasn't crowded. I stopped at the hostess area but no one was there to greet me. Stood there for about 2 or 3 minutes waiting to be seated. Finally a young girl came up to me and before she seated me she ran through a list of about 10 items they were out of. Not off to a great start but luckily I wasn't interested in any of those items as I had already reviewed the menu online before going in so I knew what I was going to order. Otherwise I probably would have turned around and walked out. They sat me and my waiter was a young gentleman probably still in high school. Looking around it appeared all of the wait staff was young.....very young. I read a bunch of reviews that the seafood fondue was "to die for" so I ordered it. After what seemed like about 20 minutes my waiter took my meal order. Then the really long wait happened. I was half wondering if my appetizer was going to come out with my meal. Finally the seafood fondue came. It was ok but certainly not to die for! Then my meal came. It was better. I ordered the Salmon and I can't complain. I did have to ask for my tea to be refilled three times even though I placed the empty glass at the edge of the table in plain sight. I think they made a calculated mistake hiring young kids as wait staff. I also had to flag down my waiter to get a to go container and my check. I think this place could be great if they picked up their wait staffing game!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY or even bother to order or go to this place. Upon reading the reviews we opted to order takeout instead of dining in because the poor reviews were based on service & not food however turns out their standard of service upon ordering out is just as poor. The lady taking our order over the phone was pleasant enough however she knew nothing about the menu, not even the basics. Which kind of pasta comes with the chicken parmigiana.. I don’t know? What kind of sauce comes with the parmigiana.. I don’t know I think an Alfredo. At this point being slightly annoyed I asked if I can get some solid answers rather than I don’t know or someone who knows the menu. She then was able to clarify menu items and place the order however when I asked to add a side salad with a house vinaigrette and asked what kind of vinaigrette it was she once again couldn’t answer my question. A man then picks up the phone almost screaming at me what kind of dressing I want ans j told him the house vinaigrette but I would like to know what Kind it is, is it balsamic, white Wine , red wine what? Simple questions to be asking of a restaurant when you’re making an order. He then hung up on me. I am a restaurant owner myself and I am appalled at the lack of standard of service, downright disgusting. Will never recommend nor step foot in this establishment. You want To call yourself Italian? That’s a disgrace to Italians me being Italian myself because your hospitality is downright rude , uninviting and unapologetic. I want to put my money that the people that run this establishment are Albanian & not Italian. Shameful

Was here on Friday night with two small children. Looked like they were understaffed. Waited a bit to get seated. Initially we saw a waitress and the owner. It took 36 mins just to get a drink so we left. Also, there were guests that arrived later that already had food. 35-40 mins with nobody asking any order. The food does look really good if u can get it.

The food was amazing, well served and the customer service was great. I highly recommend to anyone staying in the Dallas area!! Best Italian good I have had in my life !!!

Delicious food and amazing service! We love Deno's!!

Tried to get a table Friday night around 8:15pm. Looked like there was one server working the entire restaurant. We couldn’t get seated or really even greeted for 15 minutes so we left.We thought about trying Denos instead of valentinos but that was a mistake. All good though I hope they thrive. I just had a bad experience first time visiting (probably only time lol). Best of luck!

The atmosphere is great, Frank Sinatra era music plays while they bring you authentic Italian Knot rolls freshly baked. The food is Devine with great attention to presentation. Decent value for the portions. It is most definitely a step up from Olive Garden.

After waiting 35 minutes, we were told that they were short staffed, had no dishes, and couldn’t make any pizzas. Terrible customer service when we finally received service. We even called ahead to make a reservation and we’re told that we didn’t need one. If it weren’t for the fact that we had 6 kids and it was a birthday celebration, we would have left way sooner. Go to Valentino’s!!

Incredible food, friendly service and a great atmosphere

We went last night for the first time and loved it! Crab cakes were amazing. The rolls were 5 star and even better with the sauce. I tried polenta for the first time and liked it. This place is the real deal and Deno is committed to excellence.knows many of the customers by name.

This place is amazingly tasty! My friend told me about this place and I’m not a big Italian food fan but I’m a huge Fan of this place now! Reasonably priced and SO flavorful! Very fresh ingredients! We will continue to come here and I will recommend this place to everyone. They deserve 5 stars!

The food was fantastic, service was great and friendly. This is truly Italian foods, I felt like I was back in NY at atop shelf locally owned restaurant. You need to check this place out, you will not be disappointed.

Great food and just a restaurant, but a real family place. Owner is great this man makes you feel like royalty

We have been dining with Deno probably around 25 years are more. The amazing thing is you can have a table of 10 order 10 different things and every single one of them will be incredible. You cannot go wrong with anything in the menu. And Deno and his staff are just as much of a draw. What great people. If you have not tried it and added it to your list of regular places, you are missing out!
