One of the best classic American cafes in the area and a true gem on Saginaw Main Street. This place has been around forever and for good reason. The chicken fried steak is outstanding, the pancakes are some of the best I've had, and mom's meatloaf is a must-try. Every single visit the service has been phenomenal,the staff genuinely makes you feel welcome every time. It's close to home, affordable, and never disappoints. If you haven't been, you're missing out on a real local treasure.

I reached this café around 6:40 in the evening while waiting for a friend who was running late, so I decided to grab something small. The place had a steady crowd, mostly people chatting in low voices. I ordered a vanilla latte and a chicken wrap. The latte came out quickly and had a smooth, slightly sweet taste without being overpowering. The wrap took a bit longer, and I noticed a couple of others waiting too, but it arrived warm and fresh. One thing I appreciated was how the staff updated customers about delays instead of ignoring them. It made the wait feel reasonable. I ended up finishing both before my friend even arrived.

I pretty much eat at JR'S daily and the food and service is always top notch. While the entire staff is always great and very courteous, I have always had the BEST EXPERIENCES with Rebecca, Amanda and Miriam. I highly recommend stopping by and having breakfast or lunch with them.
Read a review about eggs Benedict. This is in top 2 of any of amy I've had. Will be returning. He had CFS and said was excellent. We went at 2pm today and our waitress was slow. Food was excellent, overall was good except slow service and no refills on drinks at all, she didnt come back at all after she dropped food off until we we were finished and we waited and waited with dishes stacked neatly in center of table and she asked if we needed anything, dessert etc we said no thank you. Thought would bring ticket, we sat there about another 10 minutes and she came back with no ticket and asked same question. Noted loud as some type of machine kept making noise about 75% of time coming from kitchen area.

First time ordering from here. I ordered through Uber and they were rude to my delivery driver about a baked potato. I appreciate them making my baked potato, but if it’s listed as a side on your menu and not shaded off, then there shouldn’t be an issue to make it if it’s available. Or have it prepped and ready. So no, I didn’t know that y'all don’t make the baked potato this early since I’m a first time customer.

We come every morning and are greeted by our names like family, our usual waitress Mariam is always on spot and if she’s not there we still get treated well and Christian the chef is also on point every morning ! There’s always that one Karen that loves to be negative about everything so don’t believe it and go for yourself 👍🏻

We have been dining here consistently for about six years. Over this time, we have had the pleasure of meeting the owner Mason and getting to know the servers and cooks. We can honestly say that we have never had an issue with the food or the service.
It is upsetting to read recent negative reviews attacking the staff. It is unfortunate that some people take the time to target hard-working individuals without considering the impact on the employees or the business. In our experience, your restaurant has some of the kindest staff members, and we want to ensure you are aware of the great job they are doing.
