The food is really good! We did have a disappointing experience at the drive thru when we ordered a burger & fries and were told you couldn’t order fries with a burger! They do have fries but they only came with certain entrees and they could not add them to my burger order. We couldn’t even order them as a side dish & pay extra. Who doesn’t serve fries with a burger?!? It did come with home made chips, which were mediocre, but the burger was good. We were told by staff that it was a storage issue and they didn’t have the space to store fries for their entrees & fries for their burgers. As a former business owner, I hope they figure out this issue because I believe the majority of people who order a burger prefer fries IMHO.

This restaurant is really small, but receives a numerous amount of customers. Just imagine coming in hungry and waiting 45 minutes to place your order, that is exactly what I had to do. I will admit the food did come to our table rather quickly, but we were so close to leaving because of having to stand in a line for 45 minutes. The food was tasty and a great price! The staff seemed friendly, but we were able to pick up on their frustrations with the fact that they were extremely busy.

I’ve been reluctant to leave a review, since it won’t be all that great. I know one bad meal didn’t mean that the place deserves a bad review, but I can only judge by the meal I was served. My first choice (brisket hash) wasn’t available. I went with chicken fried steak and eggs. The eggs were perfect. The chicken fried steak was burned. I don’t mean a little. It should have never left the kitchen.
After the food was dropped off, I didn’t see a waitress until the bill arrived. When she added how everything was, I told her about the burnt steak. She laughed and walked away. She did come back a few minutes later to offer to replace it, but we were done eating.
The problem as I see it is no single person is responsible for the table. One person took our order, another brought it drinks, the cashier brought it food. Everybody thinks somebody else is taking care of things.
My friends love the place. I won’t be back.

Honestly my first time here was great, but the second time I went to the drive thru window & the red haired girl who works there was extremely rude for no reason. Her tone & attitude was ugly and I was definitely being polite when I pulled up & then my entire mood was ruined by that. Probably won’t be coming back bc it was so uncomfortable.

This was my first time visiting this isolated cafe/diner. When arrived around 1 PM, it was pretty busy. The staff greeted every Customer who walked in, which was a nice touch. One thing to note is that you have to order at the counter before sitting down, which wasn't aware of initially. The menu only had text, so didn't know what the food would look like beforehand. Be prepared-portion sizes are quite large! However, was surprised by how pricey the meal was for just two people, so keep that in mind when the bill comes.

All in all the Blockhouse is an amazing place to visit. If you wanna have coffee with friends enjoy breakfast. The only thing that I was disappointed in was when I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs the chicken fried steak was as tough as shoe leather you could tell it was cooked very hot almost a little burnt the biscuits and gravy had potential to be amazing if you’re gonna have biscuits and gravy on your menu, don’t put just a very small amount of gravy on two big biscuits where it leaves the biscuits very dry also, it wouldn’t hurt to tenderize the steak before you chicken fry it
Always a great time at The Block House. I always get the Jalapeño Chicken and Waffles and it never disappoints! Service is always great as well. When you walk in you order, then you take your number to a table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend sitting outside if the weather is nice. Beautiful country side backdrop, and when the wind is hitting its so peaceful.

I must have been too hungry to take pictures but man was it delicious and I will be returning in the future! Very welcoming when you walk in. My main course came out before my appetizer but I'm not complaining about it because the last at the counter gave me fair watching it was so good. But something I did find odd was that people's drinks were being delivered last! Don't worry the do have water brought to the tables but I just hadn't seen that before. Everyone was kind and helpful too!!

COLD FOOD! Horrible family experience with this place. Well soft scrambled means over easy to them. You order they do the complete opposite. When your food is finally ready, they come drop your food off at other people's table, then take the food and put it on your table after others have breathe all over it. Service is Horrible! Good place to stop if your in the middle of the desert, starving.
