I have to say that mythh on cashapp was very great and best service that we have. We would love to go back and have her as our server as there was other servers that seem like they didn’t care about the customers but just wanted to be there to make money.

We had the pulled pork burger and the steak sandwich, and the pumpkin cream chai latte, and a fruit tart and Dubai chocolate brownie. This is the best pulled pork sandwich I've ever had, loved the blackberry hot sauce- fruity and sweet and spicy. My husband didn't enjoy his steak sandwich much, thought the chunks were too thick but the flavors were OK- his loss I thought the chai was sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were well balanced otherwise. I loved the tart but the brownie was too rich for my taste. The staff were top notch, constantly checking on us and keeping the tables clean and clear. The place was decorated nicely, the patio area out back was great, good place for families with kids or adults to hang out. Games like corn hole, connect 4, big jenga and other fun stuff. Going back soon

Hosted my son’s 1st birthday party at The Blockhouse, and it was a wonderful experience. Our event coordinator, Lee, was an absolute pleasure to work with — incredibly accommodating and attentive, not only to us but also to our vendors. The entire team was friendly, professional, and provided excellent service throughout the event. Thank you, Blockhouse, for helping make our celebration so memorable!

Don’t get me wrong I loved the blockhouse the couple times we have come delicious food and great services but this time, it was way off putting. We had ordered waffles but they were undercooked in the middle you could taste it raw in the middle. We told one of the servicer really nice but the when the manager came she was like are you sure it is even after I showed it to her. Girl goes off rolling her eyes as she walking away and complaining about it with other people as we are still there eating our food. So now put everyone in the bad mood and disrespecting the customers. We liked the place but this time rude.
I’m sorry to answer here but yes we did leave a review not here but we all had posted on social media and recommended to many people. That is coming very rude and strong.

I don’t typically write negative reviews. Especially for businesses I genuinely love. But the past few times I visited blockhouse left me feeling a little upset.
I love Blockhouse. I love the food. I love the drinks. It really is such a cute spot with great food. The servers are so sweet and I rarely find anything to even nitpick about. But the last few times I’ve eaten in, there’s been the same kind of bad vibe. Food was great as usual. Servers are the best. But while there I was put off by the interactions between staff members. One of the leadership or management was talking down to some of the employees. Normally I’d just let it go and chalk it up to an issue they’re mitigating. But the way she was talking to the staff was upsetting. I let it go as it wasn’t my business but it happened a few times on one visit. I even felt a little guilty after leaving. But after this second visit, hoping maybe it was just an isolated ordeal, the same woman was treating other employees the same. So it seems like this must be a typical day to day for the staff. It was extremely uncomfortable. I asked my server who she was and they seemed apprehensive to even say she was a newer manager. I’m not sure if anyone else has experienced this but it’s very off putting and really bums me out as Blockhouse is such a cool little spot.

First time out with my dog to dine at a public location. The Blockhouse staff was amazing. I was alone they were able to take my order outside since I had my dog. Food was amazing. Definitely coming back. Thank you for the great service Blockhouse crew.
THIS PLACE IS OUTSTANDING! We are still pretty new to San Antonio and we believe in supporting the local economy. We love in La vernia and wanted to get breakfast nearby. The Blockhouse had high ratings so we had to give it a shot. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! The food is SOOOOO TASTY! The service is authentic small town with hospitality, and the atmosphere is lively. Did I mention that the food is PHENOMENAL?! You get a FEAST! The portions could feed an O-line! The lemonade and the tea are thirst-quenching and refreshing 😋 If you haven't stopped in, put it on your calendar and thank them later!
