Was treated to brunch on Mother’s Day. I was extremely disappointed. The food was cold and not good - you could tell it was prepped in advance to accommodate the crowd. It was not worth it - very disappointed. Will not return and do not recommend.

Lovely dinner with exceptional service. Tenderloin was so good and perfect portion size. Craft cocktails were tasty and refreshing. I personally did not enjoy the bread pudding.Overall a nice pleasant night out and would recommend.

Not worth the trip. The descriptions on the menu sounded fantastic. The reality wasn't so great. The shrimp were fine, though the cocktail sauce was lifeless. The "focaccia" was wrong from the get-go (it had an orange, almost dry cornbread feel to it). Then the execution was worse. It was overcooked, burned in places, and the sun-dried tomatoes were gummy and too large. They had cut it into almost breadstick like strips. It was just wrong from start to finish. The cocktails were fine--though one of them had a distinct tinny taste, like canned pineapple juice. We left after a couple of quick apps and grabbed other food elsewhere. I wish them the best, but I won't be back.

Still great value, even with the price increase ($22.95)for the Tuesday evening Prix Fixe menu. However, on our last 2 visits the food has not been up to the standard of prior visits: last time our food was cold and this time it was overdone.

What a great venue and restaurant! The setting was phenomenal and the food was great! We were sat upstairs near the the patio. The food was great but the service could have been a bit better! The server seemed overwhelmed as she was also the bartender and rushing from upstairs to downstairs getting food. I will definitely be back!!!

We are never disappointed in this neighborhood gem. The location right on Salado Creek is lovely and the food and service are always top notch. The appetizers are creative and tasty, and the portions are HUGE. Chef Pedro is a genius!

Had hoped for a special dinner with husband for his birthday. Alexander's was supposed to be the fine dining experience in Salado. We had a nice table at window in the bit over crowded enclosed front porch. Surprisingly, we were greeted by an 8 1/2x11 computer printed paper menu on the table - remnants of Covid fears, I was told. Sort of like eating at a diner- not an auspicious start to meal. Waitress was friendly and brought us glasses of water. The Tap water had a funny metallic taste even though I was told they had a filter (???) so I asked for bottled still or bubbly water instead. We also ordered a nice Malbec wine. Husband ordered rib eye and I ordered braised lamb shanks. Ribeye was cooked perfectly but came topped with a huge 3” diameter slab of garlic butter (a bit much) and mediocre sides of mashed potatoes and green beans. With just a bit of this butter, the steak was very tasty and tender. The majority of butter was left scraped on the side. Observed 3 other folks at tables next to us do the same thing with massive slab of butter. My braised lamb was mediocre. The meat was dry and the vegetables were burnt as if it was left in broiler/salamander too long. Sweet potato was served hassle back style with skin on. It was tough and hard to eat. Not their best dish. I left most uneaten. Lastly we shared a yummy bread pudding dessert served in a mini cast iron skillet topped with a scoop of ice cream. Wish we had ordered two as this was delicious but not really big enough to share. Overall, an ok meal but nothing special and a bit overpriced. Had expected a bit more upscale dining experience for those prices.

Once again, the Alexander crew treated us like royalty. Great food, great atmosphere and the best service ever! Thank you for hosting our annual staff appreciation dinner. We will be back next year since one of us will NOT consider another location or menu!

Not our first time at the restaurant, but it was our first time in the lounge. For us it was perfect. Intimate setting, comfortable seats, quiet and great service. The drinks were good. The bar has a great selection. Food was fantastic, as usual.

Main dishes were very good! Nice presentation. Lots of sauce on the Brussels and cauliflower...could have done less or served with something to sop it up. Very cool setting. Would definitely return.
