We stopped in Salado when we were heading to Austin. My wife has a favorite store she likes to stop at. While she was shopping, I was looking for a place to eat. Cathy's Boardwalk was one of the options for eating lunch, and since the reviews were favorable, we decided to eat there. I had the grilled chicken plate, and my wife had the chopped steak plate. The chicken appeared to be a little overcooked as it wasn't real tender. My wife said she loved hers.

Cathy's is a wonderful dining experience! A colleague and I went for lunch, and were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem in Salado. The food was great, and the service was excellent. I can recommend the Blue Cheese Burger (I added 2 slices of bacon 🥓 😋!), and it was prepared exactly as requested. The sweet tea wasn't too sweet, which is often the case in several restaurants. I saved room for dessert and treated myself to a slice of pecan pie, which was the perfect ending to a perfect meal!

Was shopping in Salado and wanted to try a local restaurant for lunch. The food was ok, nothing special. The vibe was homey. But the service was excellent. Good little place to get in and out quickly.

Pleasant little cafe in Salado, we waited a few minutes before we were provided menus, but we had our choice of breakfast or lunch. Food was decent, biscuit was fluffy. I had eggs with red potatoes, onions, peppers and sausage.
