This place is horrible. Service is slow. Salsa has no flavor. Margaritas are small, overpriced, and contain very little alcohol. I ordered Steak a la Mexicana and when it came out it looked like dried up fajitas and it definitely wasn't a steak. I took the plate inside and was told that's just the way it was. No offer to take it off my bill or replace it with something else. Zero customer service and false advertising on their menu. Don't call it steak and then send out chopped up beef of some type. I'll never go back to this place.

Probably the worst Mexican restaurant I have been to, and my family gave them a second try after they first opened. You have to pay for chips and salsa, no soda machine, very small portions that are priced high and taste mediocre at best, my daughter’s chicken fingers tasted undercooked, margaritas are poor quality. Only good part is the outdoor atmosphere. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.
Food was ok but definitely not worth the price and the waitress only came the first time to give drinks then food other than that I had to get up find her ask for refills and then the check service was horrible and it ain’t even that big a place is what makes looking for the waitress ridiculous

We came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and the birth of my 3rd grandchild. We started with drinks. My wife ordered a margarita without salt. It came salted. The chips were NOT tortilla chips and appeared burned (though no burnt flavor) and we did not enjoy them. The salsa had no heat. Overall this was a poor starter. We asked for Lemon for our water. After 15 minutes of our server just talking to his friends up front, we asked again and were promptly served. Dinner took over 30 minutes of preparation. We both ordered bowls. Both were poor. Mine had no flavor, way over-cooked chicken that reminded me of cardboard and whatever was at the bottom, some kind of grain or rice, had standing water. The people that owned the restaurant previously served excellent food every time we ate there. This place has a great spot but needs a new cook. All my wife said was that she didnt like hers.

I am an avid supporter of local small businesses. They are the heart of our community. I also don’t leave reviews unless I have something wonderful to share and I can only remember one time that I have ever left a review about a negative experience. Last night was a disappointing experience at Provecho especially since I have had a graduation party there and nice lunches in the past. I will never go back and I will also share my experience with all of my Salado friends and neighbors.
My sister and I were walking to our cars after a fun evening of blowing pumpkins at Glassworks and dinner at the food trucks at Barrow. I suddenly was desperate for a restroom (we’ve all been there). I looked around and saw two employees walking out of the back of Provecho. I asked if it would be ok for us to use their restroom. They replied that they were closed and I mentioned that we only needed to use their restroom if it was ok. They said ok and we walked in and saw a middle aged woman with dark hair standing in the restaurant. We asked her also if it would be ok to use the restroom. She didn’t seem thrilled about it (I’m sure she was tired and ready to go home) but she said we could use it. About 30 seconds later she started pounding, not knocking, slamming her fist on the door and shouting, “Are you finished yet? Are you finished yet? Are you finished?” It was bizarre and frightening behavior. We left as soon as I got my pants up but she followed us out shouting, harassing and insulting us. We tried to talk to her but she just shouted over us.
When my sister got to her vehicle I said goodbye and walked to my vehicle only to find out that this same woman and a male employee walked back out, stood staring at her and harassing her further still while she was alone in a dark parking lot. This behavior was unprovoked, inappropriate and unnecessary.
There are many amazing locally owned small businesses in Salado that are worthy of my business. Provecho is no longer one of them.

Drinks were tiny with big prices, protein was dry and chewy. Feels like they are attempting to be a high end Mexican establishment but are failing on the execution. We would prefer some solid, no frills Mexican food. Oh, and the chips and salsa aren’t free. Avoid the chimichurri protein bowl at all costs.

Good Mexican interior food, a little different from the Norteno or Tex Mex we get usually. Been here a few times and service and food always been good.

Queso came out cold. Older tater tot with kids food got fries. When I brought the mistake up the issue was resolved but I was then charged extra for the tots. I hade 3 quesadillas left on a plate and asked for a To go box. My food was taken to the back and thrown away. When I confronted the server he told me I said I didn’t want my food and he would gladly go pull it out of the trash for me. When I finally got a manager the server admitted to telling me he would go get my food out of the trash. The manager allowed the behavior to continue. Needless to say we will never go back.
