Not a bad local bar. A lot of colleges country kids and older locals. The service was decent and the drinks were cheap, but the atmosphere is for a specific type. Certainly a place that I would visit with a group of friends but if you're more the alone bar goer, it's a bit dry. Update: Returned on a Friday night and not much about my original review has changed, the spot is still super friendly and the service is still decent and timely, but it is definitely a spot for a specific crowed. I would not take a date to this location unless I'm joining a crowed or have a show to see.

Payed $10 to get in and this lady cut my entire table off after 1.5 drinks at like 10:30. Nobody was being rowdy or out of hand. Just having a good time and listening to the music but apparently that was too much for this lady to handle. She was extremely condescending and rude about it as well. That completely ruined my entire night. Everyone at my table was close to sober, guess they didn't want to make any more money. Only come here if you want a slight buzz I guess.

I feel like " I love this bar" should be playing constantly. This is a great place to have a drink and enjoy the locals. The girls are great. They have pizza and complementary popcorn and jalapeño peanuts. Friday and Saturdays they have live music with a cover charge that's not bad for the great music they have.

It's a West Texas Landmark. The Gruene Hall of the West. Many Texas Country legends have graced the small stage. It's definitely worth stopping by whether there's a band playing or not.

I stopped by on a random wednesday night. My wife and I are looking for a house for our Air Force daughter.I visit bars all over America, it's my hobby. This bar came up when I searched, so here I am.Bar would be an 11/10, except for the nasty, useless gal who was double charging for drinks, while playing on her phone the entire time.Sad. This historic place deserves better
