I don’t recommend this place. The food and the service both left a lot to be desired. Will not be back!

Service from Alexa I hope I got the name right!!! Absolutely amazing from the greeting walking in the door to taking my order and preparing my meal. Now the BBQ pretty much the best in San Angelo the man in the kitchen checked on me to ensure I was enjoying the delicious BBQ and of course it was delicious. I was the only one dining at the time and the entire staff made me feel VIP that type of energy goes along way. Keep up the great work.

Not sure how people eat bbq from here. The pit is so much better. RJ's is kinda a run down dirty shack

This is without a doubt the best barbecue in west Texas! They have breakfast now and their brisket tacos are amazing

Very good melt in your mouth brisket! The peach cobbler is also amazing! Definitely recommend this place if your in the area.

Legit Local BBQ spot! I am pretty selective when it comes to BBQ and this one is a must when in San Angelo. Staff was very friendly too. Plenty of parking. If you love sweets, I suggest trying the peach cobbler!

The wife and I like to split our road trips with various stops along the way. We just get bored with driving and seeing the same view. Open fields. Wind turbines. Etc. Moving forward a few hundred miles; RJ Bar-B-Que is spot on in our journey with "Righteous BBQ". It is a solid cue.Arrived at 11 am at the door opening and they were packing up a catering order for a hundred. Good sign. The restaurant is no-frills. Four walls and stuff. You know stuff. Eight or ten tables with ordering done at the counter.Simple meat plates and by-the-pound ordering. Ribs, brisket, and sausage are your big boys. I know they had a few more types of meat, but I just don't remember.I ordered two meat combos with sides. Ribs and brisket with sides. Ribs and sausage with sides. There was more food than a couple of humans can eat. The to-go containers were packed. Heavy in weight with delicious food. Enough food for four.Ribs a home run. Brisket was delicious. The sausage was good. Sides, very standard but good; potato salad, mac n cheese. You can't go wrong if you are in the area and want some delicious cue. There is solid BBQ Magic here.Overall, I would come back. I did. But it was closed. lol. Plenty parking. CC friendly. Nice staff. Seems like it's been around a while. A good choice for ribs.

Our fire academy is at Goodfellow AFB. Anytime I'm in town for a course I make a stop here for some great bbq. The brisket is absolute money. The perfect amount of fat rendered down with the smoke ring made for the best brisket I've ever had. Cheers ?

I ordered online since it was easier for me, I selected to pick up between 11:35am-11:45am; I placed the order at 10:59am. Well I got an update at 11:05am that the order would be done at 11:15am-11:20am, then at 11:25am I got a text saying the order was complete. I was unable to call the restaurant due to the environment I was in, when I placed the order. Well I got there between 11:40am-11:45am, ten-fifth teen minutes later is when I actually started eating the food with my boyfriend; it was cold, didn't even look like they owned a heater inside their place. I order the 3 meat combo, Ribs, Chicken, Sausage & potato salad as the side. The meat just tasted like smoke, didn't have its own unique flavor; came with a side of bbq sauce, which you definitely needed to actually enjoy the food. I'm giving this two stars because I enjoyed the potato salad, & the meat was alright once I came home & heated it up in my microwave. Do better.

I didn't like the flavor. Employees were great, best in town! BBQ was good but not the best. My opinion only, still the staff makes up for it.

I've passed this place many times before while being on the road to midland and often wanted to stop. This time, I did on the way back. Two stars for having a drive-thru!! Especially one that moved without a long wait. Since it was my first time here, I tried pretty much everything. Brisket, sausage, ribs, and chicken. Unfortunately this style of barbecue isn't my fave. I'm used to the central Texas standard of salt n pepper so this spice rub was challenging. It seemed like they used chili powder. Whatever it is, I'm not a fan. It was fresh though and the sauce tasted like it had mustard in it. That was pretty good. The brisket was flavorless and dry, same with the ribs. The chicken was promising but needs more seating. The sausage is the only thing I ate. It was pretty spicy and not the kind of homemade sausage I'd prefer, but I ate it. I don't live in the area, so no need to try it again.

BBQ and sausage were excellent! Huge smoke ring, freshly smoked, bbq rub on point, and so tender it falls apart with a plastic fork.

First time train RJ. With there for lunch around noon assuming the food is fresh. Got a three meat plate, brisket, sausage, and chicken. They're moist. Brisket was dry and lean, the sausage had only one type not a lot of flavor. They're chicken looked reheated in the microwave and when I took a bite of the skin it was almost like pulling jerky. You can only get to sides with options. I was reading their articles in a business for a while. I'm surprised because the quality is not that good.

I heard a lot about this place, and was excited to try it... However, I really did not enjoy it at all. I had brisket, but there was a strange and off putting bitterness to the flavor. I struggled to finish my plate. I do consider myself a little snobby when it comes to brisket, but I would venture to say it was the worst I have ever eaten. I really wanted to like this place... Sides were not memorable, nothing special. Maybe it was an exception to their normal quality, but was not good. Baer on this, I do not recommend. For reference, this was the location on Bryant.

This was THE ABSOLUTE WORST barbecue I've ever had. There was so much salt in my chopped brisket sandwich, that I couldn't even finish it. They give you a tiny amount of potato salad and barbecue sauce that slams your throat shut and makes you gag. That was not worth the $12.95. There is no barbecue smell or the smell of burning wood, just some strange chemical smell that was burning. You couldn't pay me enough money to ever return to any of these locations.
