My family and I have been to Chang Thai several times and have always experienced exceptional service and cuisine. The restaurant is family owned and operated and we love that music is always playing in the background. The owners daughter always great us with a smile and big hello when we enter the restaurant. It makes us feel so welcome.The waiting staff is always so friendly and quick to serve. The food is always fresh and absolutely delicious!On our most recent visit the owner came out to the dining area and gave my son chopsticks at his request. She began speaking to us and shared how impressed she was that my 9 year old uses chopsticks so well. She made a funny joke and we all laughed. She gave compliments to me and my children. The reason for my 5th Star is that the owner asked where my husband was (he did not join us this particular evening). I explained that he had just gotten into town from work and was feeling under the weather with an upper respiratory infection. Without skipping a beat she said, “Well wait right there…let me go get him some soup!” She came back shortly with a large container of clear soup. She had added some fresh ginger as well and she told me she hopes he feels better soon. Their clear soup-my family calls it “Liquid Gold”. It’s the perfect remedy when you’re feeling I’ll! This kind gesture made my day and meant so much to me. It’s the fact that she took the time to make conversation and connect with us on a personal level that made my heart melt. We will definitely be back to support this beautiful family and their restaurant! We love Chang Thai!Kid-friendliness: The owners daughter is so kind to my son. She compliments his cuteness. She owner herself also gave both of my children compliments and it makes your feel very loved as a customer.

I had a genuine inquiry about a salad that contains Jellyfish. I’ve never had jellyfish before. I’m very sensitive to food textures, especially rubbery or slimy textures. I will literally gag and/or vomit. I asked, if I was to order this salad, but ended up not liking the jellyfish, could I exchange it for something else I know I could enjoy. Someone named Orie, claiming to represent Chang Thai, answered “Um, No!” Wow, ok, pretty rude. I thought to let it slide. So I replied saying that I have several friends who are chefs and that’s it’s not exactly unheard of to accommodate your guests in this way. In fact, any good restaurant will do this, especially if the food isn’t something common. He replies, “We’re not an auto parts store or a taste testing place.” There was a lot more to the comment, but before I could complete my next response…they DELETED their comments. I couldn’t believe the level of disrespect or unprofessionalism! As a business owner myself, I’d NEVER speak to my clients and customers in such a way!!! And to think I recommended this place to everyone I knew! Even just last night, I was telling one of my clients, an SAPD officer, to try this place. But I will no longer bring my business to those who don’t respect their clients nor appreciate the fact that we have a CHOICE where we get to spend our hard earned money. They just lost a very loyal customer. ?

Food was great. Wait staff was fantastic. Unfortunately it took over an hour to get our food. Even after requesting a to-go because one in our party had to get back to work, her to-go was brought out last and they had to run it out to the parking lot.This made the entire experience a "never again" for me.

Amazing Thai food! Basil chicken fried rice and red curry shrimp and vegetable soup both at spice level 3. Perfect! Also shrimp bento box was delicious. Highly recommend and we will be back often.
