Wonderful food every time (pancakes are AWESOME). Service is fantastic, the staff are all so sweet and kind and work their butts off every time I'm there, but they always find a minute to visit as well. I love Gil's.

We had a group for a birthday dinner last night. We waited over an hour when they told us it would be an 45 minute wait. They had empty tables and they said they couldn't put those together. We got to the table and was one chair short. They told us we couldn't move another table together. They didn't care about us having enough room at the table. We had two kids in laps. They finally brought a chair out. Everyone was squashed plus a baby still in a lap. No one even offer a hair chair for the baby. The food was not good. Only good thing was the waiter. We will Never go back.

One of my favorite places to eat, has been since I was a kid. With my hectic schedule dining out isn't an available option for me often. When I do takeout it's always good.. if you can get them to actually answer the phone. It's a 50/50 on if they do or not. Not to mention their ordering online hasn't worked in ages.

So, ummm, the facilities are needed to be fixed or updated. The men's bathroom...I mean...who latex paints ceramic tile floors? Not sanitary. Fountain soda had no carbonation. If you want less than five star food, go here.
Been eating with this family for 20 years and I've never had a bad experience. My all time favorite is the guiso or beef fajitas , the best in town.

5 years I've been in the area looking for decent Mexican food: found it...I've been all over san angelo and pfft..the food at some of those so-called Mexican places...Alejandras , Pete's, absolutely horrifying..Gils is hands down the best food we've found..gr8 food, above decent service and nice cool setting...Xcellent...eat there...you'll be glad you did.
