The Golden Chick here just isn't as good as others I've tried in Texas. Everything needs more seasoning and the chicken texture is just not it. The coleslaw is disgusting. I just threw it away after one bite. The rolls were good. I just prefer other chicken places around town.

This may surprise you, but Golden Chick really serves up the bestCatfish fillets. Fried fresh to perfection when ordered.However, for the best experience, request a fresh cook up. Even though they will tell you they always cook up the fish fresh. There have been a couple of instances when I forgot to ask for fresh, and I didn't get fresh fish. I mean, it's fast food. It wasn't great, even the stuff you could tell had sat for a while. They were out of cocktail, but for food fast, it was OK. The staff was efficient and the place was clean.
