We ordered last night on July 26, 2025. The young lady at the window is such an exceptional employee. She greeted us, worked quickly and efficiently to get us our order in a timely manner. The food was exceptional. The Jalapeño poppers were cold and the rolls were lukewarm but other than that everything else was just as expected. The Golden Chick here just isn't as good as others I've tried in Texas. Everything needs more seasoning and the chicken texture is just not it. The coleslaw is disgusting. I just threw it away after one bite. The rolls were good. I just prefer other chicken places around town.

This may surprise you, but Golden Chick really serves up the bestCatfish fillets. Fried fresh to perfection when ordered.However, for the best experience, request a fresh cook up. Even though they will tell you they always cook up the fish fresh. There have been a couple of instances when I forgot to ask for fresh, and I didn't get fresh fish.
