THE FACT no acid reflux or anything.. really like the venom and espresso.. 10 times better than Black rifle š
Just recently picked up the Texas Pecan, and have to say it is absolutely brilliant! I load my own K Cups, and itās not uncommon for me to run a couple of passes through the same grounds (itās a psychological thing to justify drinking coffee all day). With the Texas Pecan, the second pass tasted as good as the first! Looking forward to trying the rest of the lineup. I started drinking coffee with my gran when I was 8 years old, which is around when she started being that she was a Great Depression kid. My cup-o-joe today was one of the best Iāve had from that day to this. And thatās saying something considering Iāve had coffee in 53 countries and used to play guitar at a coffee shop. Cheers from Michigan to the folks at Free Rein!
I asked for an extra hot matcha, but they gave me the coldest one ever. Of all the matchas Iāve tried around San Angelo, this is the worst so far.
Cinnamon roll extra extra sweet. Just sweet and thats it.

Tried the Costco demo deal. The āmedium roastā was basically dark, and there were way more defect beans than Iād normally expect. Personally, I didnāt think it was worth it.

I like to visit different cafes when we get re-stationed. This one is up there with the best of them. Will enjoy making this my new haunt while my husband finishes out his term here. I got the cowboy cocktail and pecan pie.

I needed a coffee and did not want to visit a chain. The name of the shop was intriguing; yes, I do judge a book by its cover!
This little shop is actually bigger than it seems. It was a bit out of the way, at least for this visitor to the area, but oh my... TOTALLY worth it! The barista was fantastic and gave me her suggestions on a drink, and she was spot on. I had the whiskey aged coffee, and it was sooooo good! I also indulged in a bacon and egg croissant sandwich, and again, absolutely fantastic!
When/if I get back to San Angelo, I will most definitely be heading straight for Free Rein Coffee!

A hidden gem with serious charm and seriously good coffee! While passing through San Angelo, I stumbled upon Free Rein - a cozy coffee spot tucked inside a beautifully remodeled old gas station, and Iām so glad I did! The place has such a cool, artsy vibe with thoughtful details, creative decor, and even some awesome merch. Itās one of those spots that just makes you want to stay a while. I ordered the spiced iced coffee, and it was incredible. Super smooth, flavorful, and with zero acidic aftertaste - just the perfect balance of mild spice and rich coffee flavor. You can tell they know what theyāre doing. Itās affordable, unique, and full of character. Whether youāre a local or just driving through, this place is 100% worth a stop. Iāll be dreaming of that coffee until I can come back!

Walked there and felt so good. The lady was really nice and such a good price in this economy. Loved my latte especially as a girl that doesn't drink coffee but when she does it can't be too strong. Would love to come back and I hope they stay in business ā”ā
My husband and I recently visited Free Rein coffee shop and unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing. The coffee was far from satisfactory; it tasted like diluted brew, lacking the rich flavor one expects. When I requested a milk substitute, my drink barely resembled coffee, appearing as if it had simply a few drops of milk added to watered-down coffee. I noticed the barista emptying an oat milk box, which gave the impression they were cutting corners rather than providing fresh ingredients.
My husband's coffee fared no betterāwhat should have been a balanced brew was overwhelmed by an excessive amount of caramel syrup, masking any hint of actual coffee.
It's a shame because the cashier was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. However, the quality of the coffee we received was among the worst we've ever encountered. I hope they can improve their coffees/lattes in the future.
customer service was horrendous and the coffee was somehow worse. i will never be coming back here

Love the coffee and food from here, but a coffee shop should not open so late! Some people cannot stop in before work because they do not open until 7 on weekdays.

Very disappointed that they reduced their bag size from 16 oz to 12 oz without a price decrease when they changed to Free Rein. They lost me as a customer with their greed.
Delicious coffee and amazing customer service. The ladies behind the counter are always so friendly and make my morning. Even when it is super packed, the service is fast. The garden in the back is lovely and nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee.
