Giving this a 1 star is generous. We over tipped the waitstaff because they need all the help they can get. They could not get our order right. It didn't taste like the vodka tonic had vodka in it. The bartender tasted it and said yeah. NOT. The fresh oysters on the half shell were cut in half too. The food was mediocre at best. I first thought the place kinda cute, but if they want that price for food I want a comfortable, warm atmosphere, not a kid's place. Save your time and money, go down the street.
An underwhelming experience. Our server was very nice, the frozen margarita was great, and the paloma was good too. The food was not so great. The salad was wilted and old. The fried calamari was equivalent to rubbery fish sticks. The fried fish was over cooked and all I could taste was the old oil it fried in. Will not be going back.
Great burgers. Bring your appetite!
I thought the grilled oysters were too salty but I looked at and talked about the others' plates and they looked wonderful with Cajun seasoned b boiled shrimp and a fish platter with delicious fried catfish fillets. The portions for the players are very generous. Yes I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to friends.
The dishes were dirty, only one waitress she was training the others. Skyler was absolutely amazing and she is the only reason I would ever think about going back. The owner is a coward and would not come out to hear me out on my complaints.
My first time at the Boat and I had the best dining experience here. I had a very friendly and attentive waitress. I had the calamari sticks and frog legs for an appetizer-- absolutely loved them. I ordered the grilled fish and it tasted amazing. My wife had the seafood sampler which was also very good. The portions are very generous and well worth the money. This is a casual and fun place to eat or drink and I recommend it wholeheartedly.
Cool environment. Bomb burger. Haven't tried the seafood yet but service was impeccable.
poor service, terrible wait time, all fried food
The staff was very friendly, but very slow and didn't come back after getting our food, without getting her attention. This maybe a good place to eat fried food, but however not everyone or every time people want fried, ordered a shrimp salad it came with 4 shrimp, well not my 1st shrimp salad but definitely my worst one, my husband got the gumbo, DO NOT EAT THE GUMBO, it was like a paste. We're not that far from the coast to where you can't get some good quality seafood. However the atmosphere was nice and laid back really enjoyed that aspect.
Just moved here and was very pleased to discover The Boat. The fresh oysters (weekend only) are EXCELLENT. Good service as well. Hoping to come back soon to try more.

Overall, the place is decent. Food is generally good, although the service needs some work. T -shirts worn by staff with the slogan “Boats and Hoes†is extremely distasteful. This place has a lot of potential —but seems to be going downhill with each visit
Service was excellent. Plenty of good food. Prices very good. Portions great. Lots of salt on fries. The hamburger with all the trimmings was delicious.
Gotta be honest here ... after growing up in San Diego and spending the last 27 years in S. Florida I would have never guessed to try seafood in San Angelo. The calamari was unbelievable.. I've been all over the islands and this calamari is tops. The staff was attentive and enjoyable. Come on in and give it a try, I'm sure you wont be disappointed.
The food was good but when the bill came they charged $2 more than the menu said on a couple of plates. In one case to people ordered the exact same thing and one was charged what the menu said on the other they charged $2 extra for identical plates
It was somewhat what I expected. Had a Gumbo. Didn't taste anything like I have had in Louisiana or Mississippi. Was a bit disappointed. Wife had fried fish and it was great. Fried green tomatoes were good also.
