My boyfriend and I arrived at 3:50pm for Valentine’s Day dinner. I understand it is a busy day for all restaurants, but unfortunately we felt the service fell below expectations despite the circumstances.

A waitress sat us at our table, but after that, we waited 20 minutes with no sign of a waiter/waitress or any drinks. My boyfriend had to ask the front desk if they would be able to get us started on service. Eventually someone new came and took our order. We had a new face come almost every time we were served but not one person gave an explanation for our wait. I understand that it is not the restaurant’s responsibility to acknowledge and explain a lack of service, but it felt like it was being brushed under the rug.

By the time our food came, the couple next to us, who arrived 10 minutes after we did, was already well into their meal. The food was great once we got it, but we both had to resist the urge to be very frustrated with the poor service.

Good food, most servers are great including the bartenders. Happy hour is a great deal if you can make it in time. I don’t think they have a hostess that enjoys their job…extremely rude, lack of greeting and just an overall attitude of indifference. Odd to employ someone on the front lines that can turn a dinner sour before even ordering.

The food here is incredible. I tried the New Mexico Patty's melt. One of the best I ever had. The service was great as well. I definitely recommend this restaurant. One of the best in San Angelo.

I took my sister and my niece out to eat here and it was amazing!!! Katie did amazing serving us, she was super attentive and sweet! She recommended the birria tacos and the (limited time) red snapper!!
The birria tacos are not traditional but they had so much yummy flavor! The red snapper is 10/10 love love love! Beautiful place and sweet servers! Was quick to be sat too even though they were busy!

Ok, the food is pretty good, although don't believe it when they say the ribs are fall-off-the-bone. And the prices will make your eyes water. However, this 5-star review is just for the service by Paul. He made up for any other shortcomings. I left my debit card with the receipts and we were seated outside on the patio. He made sure it was secured and met me the next day to get it back to me. He went above and beyond. Plus he just provided really great service. Well done, Paul!

I have traveled to San Angelo several times now for work and had the opportunity to try The Grill this evening with my youngest son. We are from the Dallas area and have had some amazing meals but our meal tonight was by far the best we have ever had. We both had the filet offered on Fridays. We both had some spaghetti squash that was so amazing I was asking how to make it at home. Every single thing we ordered was cooked better than perfection. We were blown away by everything down to the amazing desserts made from scratch there. I was already looking at my schedule to see when the next time I could come back and enjoy it all again. I would highly recommend this restaurant if passing through or visiting San Angelo. I know I will be dreaming of the food tonight. Our waiter Brad was kind enough to answer my many questions about the owner as well as information about other restaurants he owns in Dallas I haven’t tried yet. You will not be disappointed in the food at The Grill in San Angelo. I’m off to my food coma now.

I’m going to be as fair and objective here as possible. I had a bad experience, but that doesn’t mean others will. First, I concede that I’m a picky eater. I’m a vegetarian. I don’t like meat. The menu is available online, and I looked at it before I went. I recognized there weren’t a lot of options for me. They have a kid’s menu, and I thought I would do what I do at most other restaurants that don’t have a lot of meatless options and order a grilled cheese off the kid’s menu. I understand it says 12 and under. Y’all need to know that they mean it. I didn’t even ask to speak to the manager, but he came to talk to me anyway…or I assume he was the manager. I actually didn’t ask. I was kind of embarrassed. Have y’all ever gotten in trouble with the manager for your order at a restaurant? Anyway, I’m a reasonable person. I was willing to change my order. I get it…I’m dining in their establishment, and they get to make the rules. The guy gave me a few vegetarian options from the adult menu. Things like mashed potatoes, cornbread, and they could make any of the salads without bacon and chicken. So I ordered a salad. Which was fine. But I was charged the full $17 for a salad that didn’t have chicken. They were generous with the walnuts, at least. Also, my friend said his broccoli was cold. If you’ve had a good experience here, I’m happy for you. If you’re like me and have certain dietary restrictions, this might not be the place. I genuinely appreciate the people who helped us where they could. And to the person who took my order…I’m really sorry if I got you in trouble for ordering the grilled cheese. Thank you for being kind and doing your best.

I love going to the grill. The food is always delicious. Recently, my friend and I had a wonderful birthday lunch. Evan, our waiter, did an excellent job. The Key Lime Pie was scrumptious! Chris, the new manager, was very friendly. It is one of my favorite restaurants in San Angelo, Texas.
