I recently visited Acadiana Cafe in San Antonio, TX, and had a mixed experience. I ordered the Cajun sampler and a piece of fried catfish. The catfish was nicely fried with good flavor, but the portion size was disappointingly small. As for the Cajun sampler, it fell short of my expectations. Growing up on Cajun food, I'm used to bold, well-seasoned dishes, but the sampler was lacking in that department. The gumbo was watery and missing the essential filé powder, the crawfish étouffée tasted a bit fishy, and the jambalaya and red beans and rice were just okay—again, not enough seasoning.

On the bright side, our waitress was fantastic—friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable, but we had to wait over an hour to be seated, which was frustrating. The staff mentioned the kitchen was backed up, so I’m hoping this was just an off day for them.

Overall, while the service was great and the catfish was a highlight, the lackluster seasoning and long wait time made the experience less enjoyable. I’m hoping it was a one-time thing, and they’ll get back on track soon

Not what is used to be. Went for lunch arrived at noon they were a Lil busy.waited 10 min for a seat. We ordered as soon as we sat down. 1 hr later still didn't have our food though every other table that sat after us did and finished eating. This server was a younger mexican kid with glasses horrible. Finally said hell with it we've wasted enough time.went to pay for our drinks the manager was nice enough to not charge us. Then the server comes up amd said they made the order to go so food had prob been sitting there for a good 45 minutes and he never checked. Wasted 1.5 hrs of my life never again

Super sad Acadiana is closing. We went one final time for my mom's 80th birthday. We had a large group, but was seated within minutes. The food was great, the service was great. Thank you for the many years of memories, you will be missed!

Oh my goodness, the food is so like our Stevens family Alabama home cooked seafood . Many of my South San Antonio ISD coworker- teachers and friends have been coming to this restaurant since Frienchie was the owner. Over off of Callahan by West Avenue.
My whole family have made Acadiana Restaunt and Dave our Sunday Go to and family and West End Baptist Church celebrations since the restaurant moved over there.
God bless you Dave and family. Much success in whatever your next path may be.
You are dearly beloved and admired. ♥️✝️???♥️❤️????
