Our waitress Brook was notified and said the cook staff that made the salad broke up with his girlfriend and sad! 😔 well we were sad and disappointed ☹️ and no compensation offered. Every single dish was exceptional. The flavors were bold, creative, and exciting, with each plate bringing something unique to the table. I also ordered the **You Can't Tame This Wild Pony** cocktail, and it was absolutely unbelievable—one of the best cocktails I've had in a long time. “I have been wanting to try this place for some time now after excellent reviews from friends. It exceeded expectations from the well-balanced and delicious cocktails to both cold and hot dishes. For cocktails I tried the Maracuya (welll-balanced, fruit forward but not too sweet) and Club Esmeralda (balanced with fresh herbaceous essence). My husband had the Saltao’ Sour (balanced Mezcal cocktail but not too Smokey with egg white for a nice finish) and Hola Oaxaca (Smokey cocktail balanced with the Orgeat). I recommend trying them all! For food we started with the Nikkei Cebiche which was the highlight of our meal. The fresh Yellow Fin tuna layered with flavors instantly had us ready for a second visit. On to the Piqueos section of the menu where we enjoyed the Yucca Frita, Conchitas a la Parmesana and Anticuchos. Each a warm dish with continued fresh flavors. For our main course we shared the Chaufa (fried rice with pork belly, sausage, egg etc) again layers of flavors and a hearty portion to share. We completed our food journey each with a glass of wine, he a Sauv Blanc from Chile and myself an Albariño. Please come enjoy this lovely gem in Southtown. It’s a unique, one of a kind restaurant in San Antonio. Thank you to the Chef and team for an amazing Sunday lunch experience. We will be back for more.”

“This is a typical greasy spoon restaurant, my favorite kind. Being new to the San Antonio area we were disappointed to see so few sit down restaurants that serve a good breakfast menu. Jim's does! Walking in we sometimes feel like we are in a senior center as many older adults eat here. Hey, we know what tastes good and we know what is affordable! Amazing biscuits, I love their biscuits and sausage gravy. Catfish meal is soooo good. I have not had a bad meal here and the service and waitresses are amazing. LOVE Jims!”

I explained how we do not like frosting that is too sweet and a little bit whipped and boy did they come through. In my opinion, the green beans were OUTSTANDING and the star of the show. Very unique flavor that hit the taste buds like WOW! “Last week I was one in a group of twelve who had an amazing experience dining at Ida Claire. All agreed that the food was excellently prepared and tasty. Those of us who ordered bread pudding thought it was wonderful. The service was top notch, thanks to our awesome server King. King was not at all intimidated by the number in our party. He was personable, knowledgeable, attentive, and accurate. We would certainly go there again.”

“First time to San Antonio, first time to Paesanos, and we were delighted by the experience! I have a gluten allergy and I know when a place gets such high reviews on my gluten free app I have to try it. Darren made sure we had a wonderful evening. They had a number of pasta and pizza options, but I went with one of their flagship pasta dishes considering it's what helped put this place on the map in the late 1960s. Considering it was a lemon pasta dish I was kind of skeptical because most I've had in the past felt so lemon forward that's all I could notice. This dish was light and elegant, I enjoyed it so much! The shrimp were cooked perfectly. My husband had the stuffed shells which he enjoyed immensely. He really liked the bread and olive oil as well before our entrees arrived. Anyway, on top of the delicious food we had a very attentive waiter in Darren, who not only had a lot of knowledge of the restaurant's history, but that of San Antonio as a whole. We had a great time talking with him and learning about the city. It was a great experience and we will be back when we're in town!”

The lady at the front desk, Laronza greeted us with welcome to beer code!. She had to have read my facial expressions becase as we walked up she was smiling and very cheerful to be working in a airport. There were only a few people ahead of us and she was like a captain or somewhat on a ship. Laronza asked our name and how many and wrote it down. She let us know that she would get us all sat down in a few minutes and went to cleaning tables very quickly. We sat up front near the bar area, the food was great, a bit too warm but this place was very inviting and the food was amazing!”
