“I've been a few times now and have never had a bad experience. The parking lot's a little small, so that can be difficult on a busy night, but that's probably my only complaint and even then I'll always recommend stopping here on a night out. The drinks are great, vibes immaculate, and the staff is amazing! I typically get the Molly Ringwald, but have tried many of their cocktails and they're all so good. You can't really go wrong. I also love that they have non-alcoholic options as well, so no one feels left out. On my most recent visit, we got a round of shots and I asked the bartender if she could make one non-alcoholic. No hesitation, absolutely, and our DD was so excited and appreciative to be included for once. It's definitely become one of our go-to spots.“
“Recently came here twice and it is just a very chill place in general. They have a front patio and a back area. It's a hole in the wall type place but that's more so why I liked it. The bartender however (sorry I didn't catch her name) was amazing. I ordered and old fashioned and she went all out. Couldn't ask for better. I frequent a lot of bars and alot of them either can't make an old fashion or can't make a decent one yet her's was perfection down to the luxardo cherries. She was very nice and told me about the bottles they had and suggested a great bourbon. Love the place. I'll be a regular from now on, thanks girly“

“The Ape is hands down one of my favorite bars in SATX. Open 7am-2am, you could pop your head in anytime. Kodi and Nycole really shine, especially Kodi and seem to know what you want to drink before you even do. It’s a tucked away dive with cheap drinks and good times; check it out!“

“This local bar is located just outside Fort Sam Houston off Harry Wurzbach @ Burr Road. Most might consider this a "dive" bar, but I'd say a friendly, local spot. The beer is always cold and Shelby is the go-to bartender. She may not always remember your name, but she sure remembers your face. This is definitely a spot you will find regulars. There are games such as pool, trivia and darts and also a jukebox. There is a sign outside the bar that reads "best pizza in town" and while opinions may vary, this dang pizza is good! That is all the food they have, but just wait and the tamale lady will come in and these tamales are delicious! Did I mention it was on Bar Rescue? Sorry, no pics. I'll add next time I'm there“

Apparently they don't have waiter service.You can sit around the bar if you wish, but on weekends the place is packed.It is a small space and has some high tables. “I wonder if the investors who own this place have ever been in a bloody bar !?! I devoutly wish this place would succeed. It's within walking distance. But it stinks out loud. Rather than go to Fizz, spend your free time waiting around at the Dept of Motor Vehicles ... doesn't even matter if they're open you'll still have more fun. The management puts no value at all on training staff for this morgue. I stop in every three or four months hoping it's been taken over by someone who wants to run a bar. No luck so far. For years I've visited around seasonal holidays. They always have the mandatory decorations and the same 200 TV's playing the same channel, usually sports. The staff doesn't care if customers want to listen to music or watch something else. They'll never ask and if customers ask they're told "I can't" or "I don't know how". Staff are apparently hired solely for their looks by others at least as ignorant and uninterested in tending bar as they are.“

“Love this karaoke bar! Its such a fun low key spot to come to by yourself or with a friend/friends! They have a few pool tables and lots of seating. I went on a Monday night where they had a $2.50 special on Michelob Ultra! They have trivia nights on Tuesday’s, and I’m sure they have other fun activities the other days of the week. I’ll be coming back when I want to have a drink and listen to people sing or maybe participate myself!“

Food trucks show up & have menus, but haven't eaten in a while. Always liked the lucha libre (Mexican wrestling) atmosphere since I first discovered the bar.Parking: Plenty of parking, as long as you arrive early. A little difficult to park later next to bar. Free parking across the street in another lot, unless that fills up.Wheelchair accessibility: A ramp to roll wheelchairs into the bar in front. “I first visited this place in 2011 and it was smoky and not appealing at all. I went back recently and found it to be very nice. There are TVs and pool tables, a shuffle board and pinball machines. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the staff was quite friendly. I recommend it when you're in the area.“
