“Out of towners? This establishment is an All-in-One stop. For any reason you are in downtown Austin, stop by this place. We did not know where we were going exactly but ended up on Congress St. at the White Tiger. It appeared to be a quaint and low-key spot to have a drink and listen to music.
From walking in to walking out, it was the best experience. It was on a Sunday, walking by and saw a message board, “free entry” with live music then a stand up mic show at 8pm. This place serves food with a unique style menu. Not just “bar food”. Jay was our bartender and immediately we felt the friendly vibe with him as well with the other staff even the one musician/singer that was performing. She was a pleasure to listen to with a mix of music styles. We hung out there until the stand up mic performance began that was at the rear part of the bar. We then returned to the front bar and ordered the Rangoon from their menu. Nicely presented and the mixture of ingredients was pleasantly different. Be sure to save The White Tiger on your places to visit in Austin!

The vibe is relaxed and unpretentious with just the right amount of energy to make every visit feel like a great night out with good company. The drinks are well crafted and the selection is broad enough to satisfy every taste whether you are in the mood for a classic cocktail or something a little more adventurous. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes sure every guest feels welcome and taken care of throughout the night. This place has a real soul to it and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in all of Austin.“

“Fell in love with this place. A group of girlfriends and I were just stopping in for a quick shot but it ended being the funnest part of our whole night! We ended up staying for a couple hours singing along to every song this tall cute cowboy of a bartender played for us. We would request songs and he’d play anything we wanted to hear and it turned into a big party. No place ever does that! Unexpected hugging, singing, drinking, dancing, laugh fest. “Very cool neighborhood bar. It seems like a “dive” bar from outside, but it’s a very classy and well-kept bar. The music they had on was so relaxing and chill. We really appreciated the ambiance and ability to comfortably visit with the bar tender. He was very personable and made great drinks. The happy hour goes til 7:00, which is hard to find in Austin. We don’t live on the east side, but will definitely be back.“

“Twin Creeks is an old-school roadside dive bar just off FM 2469 in North Austin. Opening hours are around 3pm to midnight each night. They have an indoor bar and outdoor seating next to a small creek with clear water and small fish. There is an indoor and outdoor stage and pool table as well. Bartender was very friendly when we popped in for a round of beers. Interesting mix of patrons came in during the afternoon hour we were there, most wanting to enjoy the great mid spring time weather outside. Just seemed like a really good, local watering hole in North Austin, a place I'd be glad to visit regularly if we lived in the area.“

“I got some takeout around 10:50 pm so it was drinking hours. I don’t drink at the moment but it seems like a chill bar. I walked up to the chefs window in the back and let him know I had a pick up and he kindly let me know it would be a few more minutes. I came back a few minutes later and he was waiting on me. Seemed like a cool dude and I appreciate the attentiveness. Now the best part, I got sesame chicken thinking it was going to be your typical Chinese take out. Nah this was top tier. I don’t think I’ve ever had sesame chicken that was actually crispy before! I loved it. I will be back 100 percent“

“Came in for the first time the other day for a nice cold beer with some family members in town. It’s what we expected based on its location and outside look - a neighborhood dive bar.

Bar staff were friendly and actually smiled, which can be rare for places like this.

Besides the a guy randomly pacing between the bar and the dart board looking like he was gonna shoot up the place (seemed to be a regular, made some small talk with us), 5/5 bar.“

“Cool little dive bar. Good and friendly bar service with a mix of different xmas themed cocktails and Christmas decor. We appreciated the $5 special which includes a small high life and a shot of whiskey.

I'm pretty sure the pepperoni pizza we got there was digiorno though which I find a bit unusual.“
