“I travel for a living.
I rate burgers as a hobby.
I am a self-proclaimed connoisseur.
I drive rock stars across the USA and Canada to their rock shows.
When in Austin, Casino El Camino is THE place to get a TASTY BURGER.
3/4 pound patties, cooked like a BOSS.
Ya can't go wrong here.
Just trust me.
Only place that can compete with these burgers is Coaches Corner in Covington, KY“

Armodello

“No frills, low tech, Austin institution that's still fighting gentrification by not giving in.

You walk in and you're taking a step back to the late early 70s. Here, you'll find cheap, no frills beer and limited seating. For a change, try their Arm-Modelo: tabasco, lime and salt on the rim. Open, mix and kick back.

This is a a place where you go can have actual conversations with persons sitting next to you without music blasting in your ear. It's so small, it's hard not to make friends.

Dont expect fancy drinks, just a good time.“

“Hey let me tell you, I was looking for a place where we could grab a bite with some reasonable prices in the area down there and so I looked up this place which is right next to the Continental Club which is where we were going to see Big Sandy and His Fly Rite Boys. Was pleasantly surprised by their variety on their menu. Have a look at the pictures. The presentation was great, the food was excellent. It's nice to be able to find a place, that had some realistic pricing for some excellent food and I was sure to thank the chef who was back there... They have drink specials too, so just a great place to hang out, inexpensive drinks, food that's reasonably priced and fancy. If you're going to the Continental, slide into this place first and grab yourself a bite that way when you get into The Continental, then you can buy a bunch of drinks there and you're going to be just fine!“

Deep Eddy Cabaret Bar • $$
2315 Lake Austin Blvd, Austin

“Deep Eddy Cabaret is one of those rare Austin spots that leans all the way into its identity and absolutely owns it. It’s unapologetically old-school in the best possible way—dim lighting, worn-in charm, and that lived-in dive bar energy that feels authentic rather than curated. Nothing here is trying too hard, and that’s exactly why it works.

The beer selection is solid and dependable, with enough variety to keep everyone in your group happy without overcomplicating things. You’re not coming here for a craft beer dissertation—you’re coming here for cold drinks that hit right every time, and they deliver on that.

One of the standout features is the patio. It’s got that relaxed, slightly scrappy Austin vibe with plenty of space to settle in, catch some shade, and let the evening drift. It’s especially great when the weather cooperates, turning an already easygoing bar into a genuinely great hangout spot.

And then there’s the bonus: its proximity to Pool Burger. Having one of the best burgers in Austin basically next door is a game-changer. You can grab a drink at Deep Eddy Cabaret and then wander over for a burger that’s juicy, indulgent, and consistently excellent. It turns a casual night out into a full-on Austin experience without any effort.

Together, it’s the kind of combo that reminds you why this corner of Austin has such a loyal following—low-key, unfussy, and reliably fun every single time.“

The drinks are well crafted and the selection is broad enough to satisfy every taste whether you are in the mood for a classic cocktail or something a little more adventurous. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes sure every guest feels welcome and taken care of throughout the night. This place has a real soul to it and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots in all of Austin.“

We really appreciated the ambiance and ability to comfortably visit with the bar tender. He was very personable and made great drinks. The happy hour goes til 7:00, which is hard to find in Austin. Twin Creeks Hall Bar • $
13400 Farm to Market Rd 2769, Austin

“Twin Creeks is an old-school roadside dive bar just off FM 2469 in North Austin. Opening hours are around 3pm to midnight each night. They have an indoor bar and outdoor seating next to a small creek with clear water and small fish. There is an indoor and outdoor stage and pool table as well. Bartender was very friendly when we popped in for a round of beers. Interesting mix of patrons came in during the afternoon hour we were there, most wanting to enjoy the great mid spring time weather outside. Just seemed like a really good, local watering hole in North Austin, a place I'd be glad to visit regularly if we lived in the area.“

We ended up staying for a couple hours singing along to every song this tall cute cowboy of a bartender played for us. We would request songs and he’d play anything we wanted to hear and it turned into a big party. No place ever does that! Unexpected hugging, singing, drinking, dancing, laugh fest. “I got some takeout around 10:50 pm so it was drinking hours. I don’t drink at the moment but it seems like a chill bar. I walked up to the chefs window in the back and let him know I had a pick up and he kindly let me know it would be a few more minutes. I came back a few minutes later and he was waiting on me. Seemed like a cool dude and I appreciate the attentiveness. Now the best part, I got sesame chicken thinking it was going to be your typical Chinese take out. Nah this was top tier. I don’t think I’ve ever had sesame chicken that was actually crispy before! I loved it. I will be back 100 percent“

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hotbox Pizza & Rolls absolutely delivers on flavor and quality! The pizza is delicious — with a perfect crust, rich sauce, and fresh toppings that hit the spot every time. The wings are packed with flavor, cooked just right, and definitely stand out from your average takeout. Mozzarella sticks? Golden, crispy, and full of gooey cheese — the kind you crave. And don’t even get me started on the pizza rolls… they’re on another level! Hot, cheesy, and stuffed with flavor — they’re easily the best I’ve had anywhere. Try their house made ranch with literally everything. So good. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or feeding a crowd, Hotbox is a winner across the board. Highly recommend!“

I was really happy with the tunes they picked out - an eclectic mix that was nice for all people in our party (all ages). They also had a nice selection of taps of beer and normal well drinks from the bar.
