“I love love love Sparky’s Pub and the rest of gay strip in San Antonio. Great bartenders (especially, Rolando), and the drinks are strong and affordable. SA is a late night crowd. So, if you are there during the week for work or something, don’t expect it to be busy until late.Also, be sure to checkout the King of the Grill food truck right outside. It is open weekends and some weeknights. It’s great!“
“I first visited this place in 2011 and it was smoky and not appealing at all. I went back recently and found it to be very nice. There are TVs and pool tables, a shuffle board and pinball machines. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the staff was quite friendly. I recommend it when you're in the area.“
“Cowabunga is definitely a "Dive Bar", but without a doubt one of the greatest Dive Bars you'll ever visit. I was just a tourist and they made me feel like a local - both Ryan and Claudia will bend over backwards to make you feel welcome! This place is a diamond in the rough for certain!!!“
“This bar has the best service and nicest people!!! I had gotten a flat and roadside was over 2 hours away. I took a chance and walked into here and asked if anyone knew how to change a flat and luckily someone did. These 2 very very nice guys took the time out of their day to help me out. Im so sorry I didn’t get y’all’s names!! but yall were literally LIFE SAVERS!! Will be recommending this Bar to everyone! “No food here. Drinks only. Was able to get a free mocktail based on my favorite color. :) Service was good. Again, my mocktail was free. :) I tipped of course. Ambiance = there are no windows. This is an old school dive bar with a pool table and a jukebox. I've been going here for decades.“
“Great place for friends and has very cheap drinks. The bartenders work fast and they have a cash only bar as well for events with expected heavier crowds (I will always recommend heading the cash bar for even faster service). It brands itself as a dive bar and definitely gives the vibe. If you don’t want to be around a heavy bass dance floor and mostly want a chill place with music and good drinks, this is your spot.Parking can be tricky for larger, planned events just due to how popular they can be however you are free to park in the business cul de sac (please don’t block the business driveways).“
