“If you’re looking for a friendly neighborhood bar where everybody knows everybody and it’s easy to make friends, this is your place! My friend’s joke that they wish they had a ‘Cheer’s’ like neighborhood bar in their neighborhood. I told him you don’t have to live around here, many people come from miles away :) no real food but I’ll go to a restaurant for food. LOVE the bartenders, owners are ALWAYS present. Great place.“
“Everything you love about a dive bar. Mostly local customers, you will definitely hear sassy banter between the staff and customers. It’s giving family at thanksgiving vibes. No bells or whistles needed here, good drinks and a rocking jukebox is what we want.“
“pitcher Miller lite and double shot of jack is my drink, jukebox blisters out Slayer, lamb Of god while the pool leagues rack away. Good place to throw darts and watch some Spurs, Nascar or Football. The bartenders are attentive and they even have a outside smoking area. Good place to meet new people and you can bring your pet.“
“the Guinness here are literal perfection. Creamy head, smooth as butter, tastes like it was poured by someone who’s seen the inside of a Dublin pub. One sip and you’re like… yeah, life’s good.
10/10 would vibe here again.
Also bartenders are always nice!
Thank you for always keeping up with us!
Jen, Ale and Audrey!“

“I write this review because of the service that Brandon gave to me and my wife while we were visiting the San Antonio Riverwalk. We are 78 years old, and were struggling in the heat, Brandon noticed us and offer us a table to relax and have a cool drink. We caught our breathe and moved on after this wonderful act of kindness. Later the evening we went back with the intent of having our dinner. Brandon came out and down the stairs to the walkway remembering us from earlier. I told him that we wanted to have dinner but because my wife is using a walker we could not make it up to eat inside. Brandon said not to worry that he would take us up a a lift that was off in the corner of the building. He, then set our table, with a view of the walk below. What we ordered was delicious. While we ate we observed the other things that Brandon was doing to please the customers. He fixed a wobbling table instantly as the customers continued to have their meal, then spruced up pictures making sure they were well polished. Helped us get back down to ground level. The point is that this lad is a people person, craves helping people, and makes people want to come back to Mad Dog, which has excellent food at reasonable prices and is definitely an enjoyable place to spend time because they do the extra personal step of caring.“

“First time had a good time yes nice place to drink and watch games awesome people friendly place we’ll go back yes“
“I’ve driven past this place what feels like a million times heading south on 37 toward Pleasanton and always wondered what it was like. Decided to check it this place out yesterday.
Turns out it’s a laid-back, old-style local saloon in South Bexar County with pool, darts, a small dance floor, and just an overall great place to hang out. Definitely not a dive like some people might assume when they first see it, and most definitely not what I’d call a dance hall at all — not like the ones around San Antonio.
It was our first time there and we didn’t know anyone, but the staff and management were outgoing and friendly, and there was a good mix of local country folks and regulars. They also have a digital jukebox, which I pretty much had full access to the entire time and got to play a variety of different genres of music I love. It was totally awesome!
Nice to find a place like this in the county that isn’t just a beer-only bar, or a place where you bring your own liquor and they charge you for it like some places around Pleasanton, such as Bar K or Texas South. Definitely will be back.
Also found out karaoke nights are Friday and Saturday, and a cool older gentleman working there named Joe told us he’s been there for 22 years and they pretty much have just about anything you can think of to sing on his playlist.
If you live out this way, or you’re in San Antonio or the surrounding areas and feel like taking a drive toward South Bexar County near the outskirts of the Atascosa County line, and you’re looking for a laid-back local chill spot to play darts, pool, or gaming machines, it’s definitely worth checking out. (Smoker friendly). You can Uber food there too!
RATE: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Great People and Strong Competition Banana Billiards is a great spot for anyone who loves pool- friendly atmosphere and lots of strong competition. They have several Diamond tables that are nicely taken care of and a joy to play on. Rick, the owner, is super welcoming. He took the time to help me find other local tournaments while I was in San Antonio and Roger ran an awesome 9-ball tournament there on Friday night where the competition is STRONG- a good mix of high-level players, including some semi-pros. Friendly, relaxed, competitive vibe- It’s easy to see why pros drop by every now and then- is definitely worth a visit if your looking for a game or two while your in town.“
“Awesome bar with great people, friendly staff, and unbeatable prices! Perfect spot to unwind and enjoy good vibes. Highly recommend!“

“UPDATE : got into contact with the owners and they completely rectified the situation I am pleasantly surprised and impressed with the owners ability to amend the impression my former review left on me
ORIGINAL REVIEW :Bartenders are great the service is the only reason I’m giving any stars the service was great but it’s a karaoke bar on Saturday so we come for karaoke but the DJ does t have a very big mic of songs came twice and doesn’t have the stuff we want to sing , if rock is your vibe only they’ll have your song for sure KJ’s group of friends came in and kinda hogged the queue KJ is kinda rude and came after us in facebook comments will likely never be back our first time bartender told us this is their normal KJ for karaoke and suggested we come back in 2 weeks we return and it’s the same guy so I ask on Facebook for suggestions and he ( the guy running karaoke at baseline) immediately comments how he has all the fun songs weird to be in my comments while you’re supposed to be working“
“My local favorite for a Friday after-work cool down. The bartenders are cute and friendly, and remember your name and drinks, which is a MUST for me. I feel like they could leave a couple of lights on because the TV screens around the bar hurt my eyes after a while. But otherwise it's definitely my favorite place to hang out after a long work day.“

“A great clean place to chill, plus they have a great happy hour.“
“I’ve been here twice. A good place for people 35+ who like to dance. The good is there are plenty of people who want to dance, there is plenty of seating. Entrance fee is $10 which is reasonable. Taco truck out front (haven’t eaten there yet).
The band that plays is pretty good but there is more DJ playing which I prefer (sorry, I go to hear and dance to the recorded music).
There is PLENTY of seating so it is a great date place if you want to hear music with a date, sit and drink. They aren’t pretentious and forcing you to buy seating or bottles.
What would make this place better is if they would renovate: refresh the carpet or put into slip resistant tiling, have the bar and metalworking refinished and polished. I get this is pretty much a historical landmark. It’s pretty awesome all of the artwork around marking the unique history. Just needs a refresh.
The wait staff needs to cover more of the outer tables. It looks like you need to come super early, like 8pm to get a table near the main dance floor which is where you’ll get the prime wait staff attention, but if you sit in the areas on the side, you’ll need to go back and forth to the bar.
I’ll be going fairly regularly. I like to dance and it looks like it a MUST visit if you really love to dance Bachata, Salsa, and Merengue.
One last thing if the owners read this: get a little more predictable on the music rotation like 4 salsa songs, then 4 merengue, 4 bachata, 4 Cumbia, then circle back. It helps people who dance on the regular figure out rest periods. The playlist is pretty much a surprise mix of Latin music… great classic Latin music though.“

“This place is pretty good. There are 2 places inside Roo Pub. The main area that has tables and lots of large screens for sports. The beers on top are decent. Basic tap beers including small selection of IPAs. Food is just OK, especially the onion rings. I had the pulled pork wrap and I don't care for pecans in my pulled pork and the BBQ sauce was way too sweet for me, but if that's your Thang than YASSS QUEEN. There's also an bar next door called Angey Elephant that has club music. Restrooms are good as well. Over all I recommend, has everything you need for a night out, not sure if they offer Kareoke. If you go let me know and I'll meet ya.“
