“This local bar is located just outside Fort Sam Houston off Harry Wurzbach @ Burr Road. Most might consider this a "dive" bar, but I'd say a friendly, local spot. The beer is always cold and Shelby is the go-to bartender. She may not always remember your name, but she sure remembers your face. This is definitely a spot you will find regulars. There are games such as pool, trivia and darts and also a jukebox. There is a sign outside the bar that reads "best pizza in town" and while opinions may vary, this dang pizza is good! That is all the food they have, but just wait and the tamale lady will come in and these tamales are delicious! Did I mention it was on Bar Rescue? Sorry, no pics. I'll add next time I'm there“

I wasn't there for the pianos or the live singing, but it was nice to stop by and rest for a minute after a long trek along the riverwalk. And the drinks were great, too!It's a walk-in type bar where I found a seat and was delightfully catered to. With it being a pub, I figured that I'd stop for a drink. I really enjoyed the Lost Gold, it tasted great. But for the most part, the pub was a little barren. “A traditional bar with a cozy twist! Sit at the bar or in the comfortable couches and chairs around the outside of the room and enjoy the ambiance of low soft lighting while chatting or watching one of the many sports games on the large TVs scattered throughout. We were there on St Patrick's day for our first, and thus far, only visit. There was no wait staff on duty, only the bar tender who didn't come out from behind the bar. The bar tender was very nice, but YOU must take the initiative if you want a drink when sitting away from the bar. Also, there is no food service or snacks. If you want anything to eat, you must go next door to the Italian restaurant and bring it into the bar (FYI, their food was good and they even had some bar food choices). Overall, we liked the ambiance, and now that we know what to expect, would consider visiting again. If/when wait staff is not on duty, we do recommend the bar tender take a quick moment to explain the rules of engagement to patrons not physically sitting at the bar rather than leave us hanging to figure it out on our own...“

“I've been coming to this bar regularly for the last seven years or so, and I can't think of any reasons to not keep going. The people who work here are nice and knowledgeable, and I've seen many bartenders and managers come and go, but the vibes have relatively been consistent. The new manager, Colin, has put a noticeable effort in increasing SM presence which hasn't always been the case.Throughout the week, most days have something happening. There is usually live music, trivia, or karaoke throughout the week.Every now and then, beer and liquor representatives will come hold an event to showcase certain products.If you're just there to chill and have fun, there are pool tables, darts, and a large connect four game to play. There is also a back patio that is covered and away from the sun.Parking: There was a large gym that recently opened a few suites down that is open late, so most of those patrons tend to park in front o f the bar, but the parking lot is very very large, so there is no issue finding parking, but it may not be as close as you want, but even then, it's not far.“

“Lovely little local, regular dive. Different crowd in the day vs night. Cindy runs a great ship, and the bartenders are delightfully snarky with us regulars. Very welcoming and great prices. “The only issue is that you can be waiting forever because they get distracted and take other people's orders even though you are there waiting first. I don't like to be constantly yelling like others and rushing them but I also don't like to be served last when there at the bar first or second. “I have always had a good time here, I'm not much of a billiards player because I have to get drunk to sink a ball, then I'm on fire, then I'm too drunk to sink a ball, so I have one and a half good games and I'm done. I'm more of a dart player and Bananas has the newest dart boards I've seen, cold beer and friendly people. I would go here more often, but I live a little far, so I either start there, or stop in if I'm in the neighborhood. Go check them out.“
“I love love love Sparky’s Pub and the rest of gay strip in San Antonio. Great bartenders (especially, Rolando), and the drinks are strong and affordable. SA is a late night crowd. So, if you are there during the week for work or something, don’t expect it to be busy until late.Also, be sure to checkout the King of the Grill food truck right outside. It is open weekends and some weeknights. It’s great!“
“Fun place to catch some sports on the tv and a live band. I went here twice during the week I was here to watch some basketball games. I didn’t eat here but enjoyed the atmosphere.There was a moment we were served the wrong drink and the bartenders did not seem pleased to try and correct it nor did they seem to believe us. They eventually corrected it, but didn’t seem too happy about it.“

“Love the place, this Irish pub offers a wide selection of beers, including draft and bottled beers, as well as Irish spirits such as whiskey among others. As for food, they had everything from fish and chips to boneless and burgers, among other things. The music in the place was rock and mostly in English, so don't expect to get to a place with reggaeton.I loved the atmosphere, lots of people chatting, having a good time and lively. In general I really liked the place apart from the fact that it is in a very central area, the next time I go I will take my friends.I recommend that you order the burger!!“

“I've been here a couple of times and enjoy the low-key atmosphere. Last time it was a Saturday night and had a great group around the bar to hang out to some killer music. After coming from a bar that played all country music, it was nice to hear good tunes as we had our combos (Tellamore DEW and Yuengling on tap). Bartender was nice and kept everyone happy. This is a great hole-in-the-wall place, but be careful of the Castle Hills cops as you leave.“

“Kind of a hole in the wall dance club owned by the same family since 1969 or something like that. I've only been inside a couple of times though. Honestly I feel that it's seen better days. They offer dance lessons for Latina music and a few other genres. Cool place.“
“This was my 2nd time there as we occasionally play against this bar in the dart league. Both visits have been great! Food is delicious, especially the Philly cheese steak. Service is fast and friendly. The opposing team which I believe a player was affiliated with management of the place, was very friendly and welcoming to myself and our team. Great sports!
