50 Best Beer Bars in San Antonio

“Construction makes it difficult to get to and layout is much different from fun original location. I prefer 1st location. 5 stars for that place all around.

Parking: Very difficult to find because of construction. Was able to locate using Google maps for walking after parking nearby“

We had our Offense Dinner there last night and DK and his team were outstanding! The pizza, wings and salads disappeared as fast as they appeared. So impressed with this restaurant! Also, their Gluten Free pizza is fantastic ?

“The wife and I were in the mood for a quick bite (light eating). We did an online general search and out came “Dogfathers.” This turned out to be a hidden gem we’ve never heard of. The crispy dogs were on point, as well as their tator-tots. The hotdog was fully loaded and very tasteful. We will return!“

“Never heard of this place until my sister recommended it on a visit. Upon entering the establishment, they had some good music playing, they had football on the tvs and they really were not super busy.

Upon ordering, you do have to purchase everything separate. I got a bacon burger with fries and a drink. Between two meals, I paid just under $40, which I didn’t think was all that bad. Order was completed rather quickly, however as mentioned above, it was rather slow considering it was Sunday.

The burger itself was full of flavor and juicy! The fries lacked salt, I guess you had to add the salt yourself. The fries were tastey and crunchy! Probably the best fries I’ve had in some time!!

Unfortunately I got into town hungry, so I didn’t take much photos of the environment! If you are in town and looking for a burger, come to Chester’s and give it try. You definitely will not be disappointed! I plan on coming back when I am back in San Antonio!

Parking: The business appears to share a parking lot with other merchants in the area. It was a Sunday night so parking wasn’t an issue. I am not sure how parking is during busy hours, whatever those hours may be.

Kid-friendliness: I feel they are kid friendly as there were several kids present during my visit.

Wheelchair accessibility: I did not see any wheelchair access, however I could be wrong.“

“Overall, this is a fun spot that I have been going to for years. The selection is outstanding and the prices are pretty appropriate for the area.
Over the last few times there we noticed a decline in the overall presentation and service though. They didn't seem to have enough staff and the staff they did have were clearly moving quickly but were overwhelmed.

“You can still smoke your cigarettes and cigars . It's quiet ,they have karaoke Friday and Saturdays ..LMAO very interesting . It's like a small town saloon feeling. They have screens to watch your fav.sports,dart board ,two pool tables or is it three ?. Nice state of the art juke box . Plenty of seats ,just a good place to go have a beer or two coming in from San Antonio and heading back way south . Also a good place to start a few drinks before going into San Antonio . And there is Hilltop bingo right next door . Wow , smoking,a bar ,and some gambling old school paper bingo . Lots of opportunities to win and then go have some drinks next door @spur 122 ,chat some more ,get some laughs with people you never met before .

The food was surprisingly great. I had a Rueben and my wife a burger both delicious and even the fries were so so good. “I've been here a couple of times and enjoy the low-key atmosphere. Last time it was a Saturday night and had a great group around the bar to hang out to some killer music. After coming from a bar that played all country music, it was nice to hear good tunes as we had our combos (Tellamore DEW and Yuengling on tap). Bartender was nice and kept everyone happy. This is a great hole-in-the-wall place, but be careful of the Castle Hills cops as you leave.“
