Dog 'n' Bone Pubs • $
310 Old Fitzhugh Rd, Dripping Springs

“Had our family Christmas Party at the Dog N Bone a couple of nights ago. It was wonderful! The place was perfect…nice and cozy inside and plenty of breathing room outside! The bathrooms were clean and roomy, even had a handicap access one! Nice! They even had a couple of guys taking turns playing guitar, first electric and second acoustic. It added to the festive ambience and the friendly pours by the staff. Will definitely be back! Love this place!Parking: Plenty of parking in back and a few spots in front.“

Hudson's On Mercer Street Beer Bar • $$
381 Mercer St, Dripping Springs

“Hudson's on Mercer is your quintessential neighborhood bar – neither exceptional nor disappointing. If you're looking for a spot to catch a football game, it does the job, but it won't wow you. Hence, it comfortably earns its 4 out of 5 stars. One of Hudson's redeeming features is its willingness to broadcast sports events. It's an average bar for watching football; the screens are decent-sized, and they make an effort to create a game-day atmosphere. If you're with friends who love sports, it's a decent choice.Live music is another facet of Hudson's charm. It adds a bit of pizzazz to the otherwise laid-back atmosphere. While the tunes are enjoyable, they can get a tad loud, making conversation a challenge. One drawback is the lighting – it's way too dark. Perhaps they're aiming for a cozy ambiance, but it often feels like you need a flashlight to read the menu. It's an odd choice, considering it's primarily a sports bar. When it comes to drinks and food, Hudson's plays it safe. The menu offers the usual suspects without any particularly unique options. However, they execute these staples well, ensuring you won't leave disappointed. In a nutshell, Hudson's on Mercer is a reliable but unexceptional bar. It won't stand out in a city teeming with nightlife options, but it's not a place you'd regret visiting either. If you're looking for a no-frills spot to unwind with friends and catch a game or enjoy some live music, Hudson's fits the bill perfectly. Hence, the 4-star rating – it's nothing special, but it's far from a letdown.“

Wimberley Valley Winery Wineries • $$
2825 Lone Man Mountain Rd, Driftwood - 9.12 miles

“This winery is THE place to go if you want to unwind and relax. The wines are good, but it's the staff that makes it great. After a visit or two, they'll remember your name. Then they'll remember what you drink. Good live music on the weekends. Not only pet friendly, they'll dote on your pet. Ask for Carly, Indiana, Jasmine or Pablo. They're the Best!“

Lone Man Mountain Brewing Co. Brewery •
2825 Lone Man Mountain Rd, Driftwood - 9.1 miles

“Great tap room, food trucks and selection of beers. Co-located with the Wimberley Valkey Winery for those who want some vino as well. The tap room is big and open, with plenty of outdoor seating as well but it was over 100° so we stayed indoors except to wander over to the food truck. Had a great sandwich, but next time we will definitely do the pizza it looked amazing. Tried a flight of various beers, settled on the Belgian Amber which was lovely. The grounds are huge and it looks like more buildings are in the works.“
