“I'm not exaggerating when I say this is my favorite place to eat in San Antonio. Located near the airport in a tucked away location, RO-HO Pork & Bread is a hidden gem. This is comfort food at it's finest. Ro-Ho has many great things on the menu, but they are best known for their Torta Ahogada, and it's what I get almost every time. The torta is always hot, the carnitas cooked to perfection, and the tomato salsa is to die for. You can get the torta with straight carnitas or you can mix it up with carnitas, pork stomach and skin, which is what I usually get. The torta also comes with cabbage, onion, radish and lime. No matter how you order it, it's going to be great! The place is super cool, with Mexican artwork and music. There is inside seating and an outside covered patio as well. Everything you can get to drink from the cold case is always ice cold. And they serve one of my favorite Mexican beers, Victoria. Chef Rojo is often around and greets customers. The ladies that work the register and food line are so friendly, and will answer questions if it's your first time. The place fills up quickly at lunch, so keep that in mind. I drive clear across town for my Torta Ahogada fix, if that says anything! Check this place out!“

From the moment you enter, you are immediately and whole heartedly greeted by Ernesto himself and the Great experience did not end until he warmly said goodbye as we left. The food was absolutely delicious and while the menu was ample with lots of great dishes, Ernesto makes it his mission to ensure that you get whatever you want whether it’s on the menu or not. I actually asked Ernesto to “feed me”, and he came out with the most beautiful and delicious plate of food. I have had in a very long time. Cannot say enough about this spot! When we first arrived wasn’t busy but people started coming in.

Usually a restaurant has its subtle specialties but here everyone was really good. We tried, chicharron (thick and not soggy), sausage ranchero, migas taco, kids pancake breakfast, and bean and cheese. The refried beans take bean and cheese taco to next level.

We also tried menudo(waiter let us try since we already ordered, amazing flavor and will order next time.“
