“Arrived and seated with chips and salas at the table in under 90 seconds! The wait staff was kind and speedy! Had the Speedy Gonzales plate and subbed a Chicken Crispy Taco instead of Beef. Our table was given flour tortillas and they were delicious! The space was welcoming and lots of seating. Business was booming and the fact that service and staff were kind and swift says so much about their establishment. Look forward to making my way back.“

“A Mexican restaurant at the end of the River Walk away from all the hustle and bustle of tourists and other restaurants. But make no mistake, this is a must visit restaurant if you want good Mexican food. We had Bloody Mary’s which were probably the best we’ve had. We also ordered the appetizer sampler for two and it was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcome.“

“This is my old neighborhood but never saw this place before . I live in Kirby . Had a great meal , my soft chicken tacos were delicious ..My husband had enchiladas , he liked them ..just not crazy about carne Guisada gravy on them . It should be homemade enchilada sauce , Traditional .. I hope that changes ..We still enjoyed it n will return ..Loved the service . T you .“

I’m not exaggerating when I say this is the best birria I’ve ever had. From the very first bite, you can tell they take their recipe seriously. The flavor is deep, well-seasoned, and perfectly balanced, with that authentic homemade touch that is hard to find nowadays. Every taco is served hot, juicy, and generously filled.
The consommé deserves special mention. It’s not just a side, it’s part of the experience. Rich, comforting, and full of flavor. The kind you enjoy slowly and don’t want to end.
The atmosphere is simple, authentic, and very Mexican. Nothing fancy, just great food and friendly service. The staff is attentive and efficient, which makes the overall experience even better.
In short, if you’re looking for real birria in San Antonio, this place is a must-visit. I will definitely be coming back. When something is this good, you repeat.“

“My sister treated me to breakfast and it was wonderful. My nephew Liam who is 8 years old wanted his own “Liam Special Plate.” Which consisted of Two enchiladas, three slices of bacon, one over medium sunny side up egg, potatoes and an entire pancake. To my amazement, he ate it all!!! And doesn’t even show on his tummy everything he ate. Liam said everything is great here and he loved the enchiladas. Please come by. Enjoy the wonderful-clean environment and spectacular food. I hope to see you soon.“

I stopped by 4 food trucks before finding El Caminante because everyone else was cash only.
Here, I was greeted with a smile while being patient with me to figure out what I wanted to eat. I ordered the order of mini tacos, chicken quesadillas, charros & Mexican cokes. All so good!
