We had fond memories of the food here from prior visits, the last about a year ago. Unfortunately, we were incredibly disappointed. Our server was fine, but the food was not good. I've had better food at my neighborhood Mexican restaurant. The snapper was covered in spaces that ruined it. The chipotle sauce on the chicken was bland. A formerly good restaurant is now a place to avoid.
David was our waiter. He was fabulous and told us not only about the menu but also some of the area history. My husband doesn’t like spicy things but was pleasantly surprised by David’s suggestion of short rib tacos. I LOVED the vegetable enchiladas! The chocolate mouse with raspberry sauce and a hint of cinnamon was great but the mango sorbet was FABULOUS. This is by far the BEST meal we have had in our 5 days here at San Antonio Riverwalk. A Mexican restaurant at the end of the River Walk away from all the hustle and bustle of tourists and other restaurants. But make no mistake, this is a must visit restaurant if you want good Mexican food. We had Bloody Mary’s which were probably the best we’ve had. We also ordered the appetizer sampler for two and it was delicious. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcome.
