19 Best Craft Breweries in San Antonio

Dos Sirenos Brewing Brewery • $$
231 E Cevallos St, San Antonio

“Found this place through one of the San Antonio restaurant Facebook posts. Surprisingly the chef for the restaurant mentioned it so we looked it up and decided to check it out. The food was great. They advertise clean and fresh ingredients which is even better. We got the pepperoni and fig and Brie pizzata and the kids shared the French toast. They offer a good selection of craft beer and both of the ones we tried were great. We’re craft beer snobs so we know a good beer when we taste it. The outside patio has plenty of room and shade and the inside looked comfortable. The servers were very friendly and definitely had a teamwork approach which was great to see. We’ll definitely be back because there’s so much on this menu that looked amazing. ?“

Freetail Brewing Co. Brewery • $

“This is our second visit to Freetail. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is fun. The craft beers are some of the best we’ve had. The bartenders are knowledgeable about the beers so that’s really helpful if you are wanting to try new things. We also had a pretzel that came with a beer cheese dip and ground mustard and a Greek pizza. The food was delicious!! I highly recommend this brewery for a great time!“

Longtab Brewing Company Brewery • $$
4700 Timco W Suite 105, San Antonio

“I heard good things about their beer, so I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. I'm a big fan of German and Belgian style beers and that appears to be their specialty. The Tripel Volunteer was pretty authentic for a Belgian Tripel. However, the MKII Doppelbock fell well short of an authentic German Doppelbock... it went flat in a hurry, tasting as if it spent some time in a whiskey barrel, and also had a smell of vinegar on the nose. Even so, I recommend Longtab as a good craft beer venue. Prompt friendly service. I'm a veteran and I give these veterans a big thumbs up!“

Weathered Souls Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
606 Embassy Oaks #500, San Antonio

“5/5, December 2023. We stopped here while visiting San Antonio around Christmas. We visited a number of local breweries and this may have been my favorite. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the service was good. The beer was quite good especially the stouts and sours. All of it was well done but those style stood out. The holiday stout was very good. The pricing was a little on the expensive side but that's understandable give the styles involved.“

“What's not to like about Idle? Besides the stellar service and the knowledge of the bartenders, they're many reasons to like this place. When it comes ti craft beer? They got you. Great selection and only the freshest Ingredients. Cocktails? Be sure to scour through a book and come prepared as they can make you whatever you desire. Draft cocktails? Unreal and full of the good stuff. Be sure to bring some dolla bills ti take advantage of ski ball, pool and basketball! It's also a 15k square ft facility. Bring your best slippers to explore!“

Ranger Creek Brewing & Distilling Brewery • $
4834 Whirlwind Dr, San Antonio

“You know what a brewery is. This is one. You know what a distillery is. This is one. Do you know what a malt whiskey is? This place makes one of the best in the world. I'm not making this up. If you enjoy whiskey, and you know the difference between bourbon and malt whiskey like Scotch or Irish whiskey, the Rimfire malt whiskey has placed 12th on the best craft whiskey produced on our planet. Consider... Scotch and Irish whiskey are aged with charred peat. Consider the aroma of charred mesquite used in the aging of Rimfire. I love it.“

“We have been coming Southerleigh for a few years now. Our last review was 3 years ago so decided to write a more recent one. Recently, we had moved in the area, so we frequent the restaurants here more often. Our last visit was Thursday night in which we stopped in for a nightcap. They were pretty busy . The one thing I like is that they recently added a full bar. Thursday night in particular, Janie and Kelly, as well as David were behind the bar. We've been served by Janie and Kelly before so we're pretty familiar with them. Anyway, just wanted to give a shout out as we did arrive when it was pretty busy. They took excellent care of us. Thank you all so much . Btw..The food is also on point. See ya soon!“

“Thank you to my fellow Houston elites your reviews! That's how we settled on this place. I was a little hesitant when we pulled up, it's located on the end of a shady looking strip mall type thing. We walked in and right away you know the owner is a hip hop lover. Especially the homage to MF DOOM. I don't drink beer, but that's why most come here probably. The menu looked super enticing too. I ordered the bacon Mac and cheese for the table. It was beyond salty, but I love salt. Idk if it's usually that salty, it was a bit much. The mushroom burger was good and the fries were the bomb. I love crispy fries. The Astros game was on for baseball lovers like me! Go 'Stros. Our waiter was super friendly. Just a good all round vibe going on. Bar seating, high tops and a regular tables. Also seating outside. All types of patrons. Folks there for the game, couples, families. You name it. When in the area, I'd definitely hit up again!“

“This was one stop on our beer crawl in San Antonio. We had ahead been to several places when we got to Alamo. The atmosphere is really cool and they have a huge outdoor area. It was a little windy and there was a wedding party so we sat inside. The staff is very friendly and helpful! The beers were ice cold ands delicious! One of us got a flight and everyone else got pint glasses of beer. They have some nice merch! I highly recommend Alamo Beer Company!“

Maverick Whiskey Distilleries • $$
115 Broadway, San Antonio

“This is a pretty cool place. They supposedly open at 12:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, but they can't quite make that happen. Plan on arriving about 1:00 PM. Weekends might be better. Their whiskeys are good... about 17 variations were available. They also brew their own beer with only four on tap. The Irish Red was authentic and very good. They are a little short staffed. Some had to wait a bit, but I received prompt and friendly service.“
