“The TLDR is this: great meal and service, but not excellent. Not worth the $270+ price.I was very excited to try Tardif and we have no problem paying premium prices for excellent food and service but it just fell a bit short in all areas. The music was so loud you had trouble hearing others at your table. The waitress we had was excellent but they need more support. You waited a long time for drink refills and no one helped her with that or the clearing of plates and the table. Other restaurants with similar prices often have staff just to assist with those elements. And then the food... the bone marrow and raclette were excellent, the side dishes (potato pave, lobster mac n cheese, cauliflower gratin) were very good, but the entrees were mediocre. His chautebriand was too thick and very chewy and the seasoning was non existent. My beef wellington was good but again, almost flavorless. I wouldn't say this isn't worth trying but I'm not clear on who they want to be. A 5-star dining experience is what they're charging for, but that is not the experience you receive, nor the quality of food.Parking: The lot is shared with a texas roadhouse, so good luck. A place trying to be this upscale should offer valet.“
“What a great place! My wife and I came here for the first time @5pm. Perfect time to come, as it was quiet and not crazy busy like it is later in the evening. We sat on the patio and it was perfect. It really felt like we were in France. Our server, Thomas B. was great. He was knowledgeable with the menu, drinks and had great recommendations. We are definitely not new to French cuisine, as it is our favorite, so we knew what we were hoping to expect. Let me say, it met every expectation and more. I've always said, you get what you pay for and with this place it was worth every penny. We did have an issue with a hair in the food. We weren't upset as this thing happens sometimes. We are only human. We told Thomas and he took care of it. The restaurant/Chef absolutely fixed it and was more than gracious by comping that dish, which I did not ask for or expect. He had 2 starters, and three entrees, mainly cause we wanted to try so many things and couldn't decided. The bay scallops, and goat cheese as starters. The Moules mariniere, mushroom risotto and the Duck confit for entrees. It was all delicious! The flavors were so fresh, unique and complex. We finished our meal with the Mocha De crème desert. Every bite had multiple layers of flavors, it was like a beautiful story, with a beginning, middle and end to each bite. I over-heard that they will be changing menus to their spring/summer menu and I can't wait to come back and see what's new. This is place has made my list of top 3 favorite restaurants in town. Shout out to the Owner, Chef, cooks and waitstaff. Thank you. We will see you again soon.“
“Low key casual French dining in a part of San Antonio that has history. Staff is super casual, attentive and friendly. Pork and lamb dishes were really nice as was the Beef Bourguignon sample the chef sent! I was surprised they had a ‘14 BV Cab on the wine list! Delicious!“
“We enjoyed a nice late evening meal on March 19. Beet salad was very good as was the hangar steak and the drum fish and the desert floating island. We were just walking down the street and stumbled into the establishment and left very satisfied.“
“My first time there and enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, courteous, and attentive. Although I was there for happy hour with friends, the appetizers offered were delicious. We shared the Paris Pizza, calamari, and chicken stuffed bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers. Delicious! Highly recommend this place.“
“1st time there. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant is a renovated Victorian home. The vintage Victorian decor was fabulous. The dinner areas are segmented into 4 small dining areas. They are cozy and create an intimate setting. They really sweat the details.Shout out to our server Cortez. He was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and was on point with recommendations. We ordered the Escargot. WOW were we blown away. The chef's rendition severs it out of the shell in a bowl with an amazing sauce... The chef has ruined Escargot for us... This is the only way we want to eat it going forward!!I had the Snapper... The sauce again stole the show. Great dish. The only critique was the duck dish my wife ordered. Despite internal temp being cooked to a perfect medium, the sear was overdone and was a little tough.Overall great venue and great experience. Definitely recommend and will go back next time in SA.“
“I can't imagine anyone giving less than 5 stars for their experience at this restaurant. I've been eating there for years and would rate the food, the atmosphere and the service 6 stars if I were able to do that. Going again tomorrow evening and can't wait!“
“Love this little cute hidden in the busyness of San Antonio, the service is always fast and very attentive and the staff is friendly. Highly recommend, Lesly was so helpful and sweet ??Vegetarian options: I was looking for a healthier option and there were a few items on the menu so I was not restricted loved that.Parking: We got great parking and it was a busy day.Kid-friendliness: Brought my kids and staff was helpful and quick to give us our table and food a huge plus with kids.“
