“Parillada Mixta is beef steak, chicken breast, port chop and jalapeño sausage. Each was the BEST I have had in any restaurant for years. Together an unmissable experience. It's worth the few minutes walk out of the ultra touristy River Walk to a truly exceptional restaurant.“
“Great food portions! The food is very delicious so much that even my kids enjoyed it ! Their favorite were the sweet plaintain, jerk ribs and rice and peas. I loved everything even the oxtail stew. I enjoyed all the flavors and can taste how well everything was seasoned. Looking forward to trying more next time!“
“Stopped by here on my home to work because I was craving something new. The woman who was working the food truck was so friendly and helped guide me through the menu. I ordered the jibaro plate with pernil and a papa rellena. SOOO GOOD!! Definitely enough for two meals. I will be coming back to try some of their sandwiches!“
“This is my favorite place for jerk and stew chicken in San Antonio. I am working on bringing everyone in my family here, I love this place because of the food and the people. Chicken is so tender and juicy, jerk Chicken is perfect amount of spicy.“
“After watching Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, we visited this local restaurant, The Jerk Shack. The food was on point. The sides are so lovely with the chicken. All the flavors were balanced. The atmosphere was relaxed and cool.Service was great! The owner and chef, Nicola Blaque, was present and did rounds, making sure everyone was pleased. She is inspirational and has done a fantastic job with bringing Caribbean flavors to SA.Highly recommend a visit!Kid-friendliness: It's a family experience for sure.“
“I was in town for a friend’s BMT Graduation (USAF/Lackland) and stopped by to get some West African flavor. He’s Nigerian and hadn’t had Nigerian cuisine in almost two months. The food was on par with other West African/Nigerian restaurants that we’ve gone to on the East Coast. As usual, you get large servings of great food at an affordable price.“
“Went for lunch with a friend yesterday. It was my first time and ordered something familiar- J*** Chicken. The meal came with rice, stewed cabbage, and fried plantains. Worth the price. The chicken was flavorful and the meat easily fell of the bone. The fried platains provided a sweet contrast. The rice and cabbage had their own flavors and were seasoned well. You can experience the flavors of individual component, but you can always tell the star of show- the J*** Chicken.“
“Let me start by saying I am fairly new to San Antonio, as I have not resided here even a year yet; however, I have an affinity for exploring food and culture. Regarding food, Jamaican food is among my favorites! Through my extensive travel, one would think that all Jamaican restaurants would have their own "je ne sais quoi" that gives you that nostalgic island experience that you may be looking for through your taste buds, unfortunately this is not always the case. However, I am so elated to write that Real Real Jamaica is among the best! From the time I stepped in, the ambience and the cashier/greeter was welcoming and patient while I studied and decided on items within the menu. My food was delivered directly from who I believed to be the cook, and was delivered with the same congenial personality. I made it home and... Well, ya know (LOL!) Needless to say, I'll be returning, and I hope the next time I visit, it is just as good or exceeds the first time.“
“Great food. Made from scratch, hot and fresh. I’ve been to other P.R. Food Spots, but this one is a must try. Family owned food truck next to a gas station. They don’t sell beverages and parking is limited. Service was a delight. The chef is friendly, polite and helped us with recommendations. Thank you the food was phenomenal.Parking: Parking is limited“
“I really recommend this place, it's my favorite, their food, their attention there. The truth is when this place doesn't open I can't find where to go to eatSometimes I go and I don't remember that it's closed that day and then I can't find where to eat.“
