Casa Rio is a historic restaurant located by the river, offering a lively and scenic atmosphere. The service is friendly and attentive, with many guests praising the staff for their care and recommendations. The outside seating provides beautiful views of the river, though visitors should watch out for the bold pigeons that sometimes join the dining experience. The food at Casa Rio is generally well-prepared and flavorful, with some dishes like the horchata, queso, and guacamole receiving special praise for their taste. The chili con carne is hearty and full of thick chunks of meat, and the taquitos are a big hit with families. The restaurant offers good value, especially given its prime location at the Riverwalk. While some reviews mention minor issues like slow service or charging for chips and salsa, many guests feel that the overall experience is memorable and worth returning for. The lively ambiance is enhanced by occasional appearances from a mariachi, adding to the fun and festive atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy unique offerings like a flight of margaritas, presented on a lit-up airplane, which adds to the experience. Many guests leave with positive memories, and some even buy souvenirs like shirts to remember their visit. Despite a few hiccups, Casa Rio remains a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
