“My wife and I spent a night in San Antonio celebrating our anniversary and came here for dinnee on the recommendation of a friend. Great little neighborhood tucked away between the Pearl district and River Walk and we walked on the River Walk to get here from our hotel. She started off with a miso fish broth that was the best miso soup we've ever had--really light on the fish flavor to the point it was there, but didn't overshadow the miso. The Arkami Carpaccio was next and was also one of the best things we've ever eaten. The waygu tartare was a little sweet (must have been some kind of light Japanese sauce stirred in to it before plating over sushi box rice, but anyone else would probably love it--I'm just not a sweets guy). my Snowcrab nigiri was also very good as well as my wife's sampling of various other fish. Ambiance and Atmosphere were both pleasant with anime playing on one TV and some pretty seating outside. Service was friendly and made us feel important somehow. It's a little pricey, but for an aniversary worth every penny. The matcha ipa was very good, too. 5 stars for sure!“
“What a gem! We've been looking for a hole in the wall joint and finally found it. $19 for lunch sushi buffet? Great value. Good handrolls and chef's roll! Nigiri was OK, but the Hibachi grill beef and shrimp were quite good. Everything was a bit sweeter than what I wanted. It's good value and awesome service by our waiter, Simon. You order and they'll bring it to your table. I recommend this place for a sushi rolls and Hibachi grill.“
“Yall, this is one of the best hidden gems in San Antonio.Ordered the Chicken Yakitory bento box with a strawberry milk tea. The atmosphere and presentation of the store was amazing, the family that owns the restaurant were super friendly, and when I got home (I ordered take out) i devoured the entire entree. The food was fantastic with a delectable taste, and an enticing smell. There was alot of food and for the price (12$) it was well worth it. The chicken was nice and juicy, the rice was nice and fresh. the Miso soup was warm, the tea was sweet. Over all an S tier resturant, and I will most definitely be back“
“Excellent first time experience! So fresh and yummy! Great service and a great deal at lunch. I ordered the pad thai lunch portion $12 and appetizers and had plenty leftover for next days lunch. My husband loved the duck panang curry. Delicious and gorgeous presentation. The modern decor is spot on~ well done. Clean bathrooms too, which is a plus. Def coming back!“
“I love this place best and freshest sushi and sashimi. Stumbled on this place for lunch ended up booking for the Valentine’s Day 5 course meal it was great! I usually don’t like seafood but this changed my mind for sure. We will definitely keep coming here 10/10 for sure.“
“I will say, once you get past the initial feeling of being overwhelmed trying to figure it all out, it's not so bad. I felt like the server did an okay job of explaining things, but I got confused and very overwhelmed at first. You order a soup base, and all your add-ins. If you get both ramen/soup and the grill items, it's $5 extra. You can order from both menus. You only get one broth so make sure you like what you choose. Everything else was fine. I would stick with just the steak next time. I felt like the lamb was really grainy, and unless you season your chicken and salmon, they're really bland. Everyone seemed to be having a good time around us, and they flip tables fast. Don't know if I personally would go back, but it was a good experience.“
“The takeaway packaging is exquisite. The ramen is separated from the soup, ensuring that the noodles don't soak in the soup for too long and become soft, while maintaining the flavor of the soup. The self-service takeout ordering machine is also very convenient, saving your time of waiting to order. 100% Will come back again.祝生意兴隆!“
“Our family enjoys eating here. The food is pretty good, the food presentation is nice, fish has always been fresh when we have gone. The atmosphere is authentic Japanese decor. The service is hit and miss. The employees are kind, but sometimes you feel they forgot about you. Maybe servers ? talking too much with other servers by the computer ?. I would still highly recommend this place if you love Sushi.Parking: Restaurant is tucked back in the corner, so you have to drive all the way back in the parking lot and it's tight. Cross your finger if there is an open spot because if not you have to back all the back if you're in a truck but if you're in a car you'll have to make a 4 point turn to turn around.“
“One of my favorite sushi restaurants to eat in San Antonio. The food is always excellent. The spicy edamame is a great starting appetizer for any occasion. Friendly staff and laidback, casual vibes which I appreciate. I also enjoy when they have live music. Overall it’s a gem.“
“A nice date night place if you want to throw down on good Japanese food. The all you can eat menu is decently priced. Food comes out prompt and delicious and the wait staff are great, bear in mind the place gets busy but that is imo an indicator of a good place to be. Come hungry!“
“I just had the most amazing Chinese food experience! The place was super cute, the food was incredibly tasty and wonderful, and the staff were beyond helpful. I highly recommend it to anyone craving delicious Chinese cuisine. You won't be disappointed!" The sushi was on point also!!“
“After spending two years in Japan it has been difficult to find ramen that is halfway decent. Hero’s has been the best we’ve found! It’s almost like being in Japan ? Love the food, service, and the 5 different anime shows going at any time. Best ramen is a tie between Hero’s spicy miso and the spicy tantan! Only wish the gyoza was pan seared instead of fried, but it doesn’t stop me from ordering it almost every time.“
“Q Habachi is a new family favorite! People say you can only choose 2 out of good, fast, and cheap. But somehow they do all three! For my family it was only $50 for 4 generously portioned meals and an order of 8 cheese wontons, and that's including tip! My brother said it was too much for him and added some to my already stuffed plate. I couldn't finish it! It was really flavorful and hot! If I could say ANYTHING negative I'd say it was a little oily for my personal taste. But my family loved it so much I gotta go 5 stars! I'll be back!“
“Good dinner with fresh food prepared with great sauces. Service was attentive and fast, excellent. The room is a bit noisy. Price is justified by the overall quality of the food and service. Sushi was somewhat ordinary but we chose something more standard and was good quality.“
“Lunch portion was a pretty decent size, pad thai was good, though I think next time I'll get a hot instead of the medium since it was still pretty mild for my taste. The thai tea was too milky. Overall I would visit again.Parking: Went around lunch time, parking was ok but the lot is shared with other businesses so it might be more difficult during the dinner rush“
“I had the poke bowl ,half rice half salad, and added tuna ,shrimp tempura ,snow crab and all the fixins.I enjoyed it .I recommend it.Parking: There's plenty of parking they also are marked specifically for the restaurant, do to that There's the YMCA next door.“
“The food are very good and the portion is very generous. The owners are very nice and they remember what is my usual order. The ingredient is fresh and good quality. I highly recommend this place. I hope that the owners could find more help and open the dine-in service soon. It is just two of them running this place and they try their best to provide the best food and service. So if they are busy please be kind to them.“
“It's been a cold couple of days, and ramen is what I had in mind. Daddy-Daughter dinner was @bakudanramenstoneoak. We did miss happy hour, which ended at 6pm.Pretty good business with many people wanting the same thing for dinner. Dad had Lemonade, and I had the Lychee Lemongrass. We started off with the Pork Bun, and Shrimp Tempura. Pork was very tender. The shrimp wasn't what we had expected, and was heavy on the batter. Dad still enjoyed, and ate several pieces. We then shared the Garlic Tonkotsu. Yum! Great flavor with the soup, and chashu was tender. Lauren was our server and did a great job.“
“We came here to celebrate a birthday and everything was just perfect. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The gentleman who cooked our teppanyaki was so funny and entertaining. The food was all really good and it was so much that we all have leftovers for lunch tomorrow.“
“Came here for some ramen and was NOT disappointed! The ramen broth was perfect! And as a bonus because it was my first time, I was given the house edamame which was super delicious. The staff is so friendly and attentive! I will be coming back!“
“Awesome service, clean environment and excellent food that comes out quick! I recommend the Hardy roll as a desert or meal and the Rowdy Roll. So yummy and some of my favorites. They have a lot of other options from lunch to dinner. Great spot.“
“Went by myself the other day. Had the Ribeye (med-rare) and a side order of Gyoza. Gyoza was like 8 pcs to my surpise so it's more like an order for 2. Ribeye wasn't too bad, better than most, but nothing to really write home about either. Overall I liked it more for the experience than the food and def reccomend you come with a party. Might come back with the fam and will probably try something else next time.“
“Love this place!! I'm very Allergic to avocado, This is one of the few places that I have found. That will make my sushi without the avocado and remember not to cross. Contaminate with using the same knives, Sushi roller or cutting boards. Beyond those safety measures particular lee for me, the sushi is amazing. My favorite is the ceché roll!Dietary restrictions: They have always been careful to not Cross contaminate when I have explained my allergy to avocado.“
“The restaurant is nicely decorated with a very targeted audience in mind that aligns perfectly with Japanese culture. All ramen bowls are so good and, if you're feeling adventurous, there are seasonal variances that will challenge your understanding of what ramen is. Give 'em a try and don't be afraid to venture away from your Go-To option, you may be surprised how good some of them are.Service tends to be slow during the busy hours, but that's expected given the popularity of this place. I've had a few minor setbacks with my orders during the busy hours though, so please be prepared to either go with what you get or ask for an adjustment if it's something that truly bothers you.I've visited this spot on several occasions and I always have a good time.“
“Visited Ichiban at 7pm on a Saturday, party of two. There was no wait, and we were seated immediately. There was only one server, and she bounced between the tables, but we never felt overlooked. We ended up getting the fried gyoza and cheesestick appetizer. Both very good and perfectly cooked and crispy. We each got a hibachi plate, no veggies. I got the steak and scallops. The steak was standard hibachi steak, but the scallops were outstanding. Perfectly cooked. My wife got the steak and chicken, and she enjoyed them and our oldest son enjoyed her leftovers. The pricing was amazing. Nearly half the cost of the more showy restaurants with shows, and just as quality cooked. We'll definitely come back.“
“We were happy to find this highly rated sushi restaurant open a little later on a Saturday night. We ordered a pot of hot green tea to share. My husband ordered some smoked salmon, yellow tail, tuna, and shrimp nigiri sushi & sashimi. I ordered the Iku Iku roll and Wild Goji Signature Roll based on reviews. I loved both of the rolls and we enjoyed everything! Very tasty and appealing to the eye. Atmosphere was quieter and mellow. Exactly what we were looking for. We have found a new sushi favorite in SA.“
“Random craving for teriyaki chicken this past Tuesday (kind of weird because I don't ever eat this ?) so I ordered from TK Teriyaki Kitchen through Uber eats and it was SO good! It was a huge serving and the rice had SO much flavor aaaannnnddd because I couldn't stop thinking about that rice we decided to go today.First of all, please make note, this is not a place to dine in. You have got to call ahead to place your order and call or text when you arrive so you can let them know you are there for them to bring your order out to you. When we arrived the lady was bringing out someone's order then came to my window and said I could place the order with her (since I had not already placed it) and it would take approx. 30 min (this was around 3:30pm).We ordered the following:Spicy shrimp lo mein plateBeef/broccoli plate with fried rice instead of steamed rice(We received fried rice instead of the lo mein which was fine with us)Totaling: $28.69Happy eating!“
“This place rocks!! The reason why i am a regular at this restaurant is because of the great customer service, the atmosphere & the food. When you sum it all up, that's what makes this restaurant the best Japanese restaurant based out of SA.Photo features The Jalapeno Tempura Poppers!! So good!“
“The food is delicious, seriously. Perfectly seasoned, grilled just right (it better be, it's DIY, I hope you don't mess it up), you can always have Omma or Oppa do it in the back for you too, and they'll probably do it better than you. They give you 7 Banchan (Side Dishes), and a bowl of Bap with your dish. A tradition in Korean food, symbolizing the love of a mother. Come to Kim's Galbi with an empty stomach, and you wont leave hungry..The servers are wonderful too. Homeboy was quick to bring me drink refills, clean empty dishes, my server had a serious demeanor but absolutely took care of what he needed to. 10/10.Parking: It's a stand alone restaurant, you won't be paying for parking.Kid-friendliness: Keep your child's hands and feet off the grill and they'll be fine.Wheelchair accessibility: It's one story and easy to navigate.“
“Loved the sushi here! We ordered the San Antonian roll, the Habanero roll, and the Tricolor roll and they were all really tasty. My husband ordered the Chirashi bowl which has sashimi, seafood, fish roe, and Japanese rolled egg over rice. We enjoyed it all and every last bite. Prices were as expected for sushi and I did feel the rolls were a generous size. We left satisfied. The location has a moderate amount of seating. Good service and relaxed atmosphere. Great place for lunch or dinner.Parking: There are a few parking spaces dedicated to Sushi Seven right up front.“
“WOW-! Ive been going to Asoko for around a year to two and they have never failed me-! They had really nice servers and very friendly! We ordered big daddy roll, yakisoba, ikura, spicy scallop (I think) and can’t name the other sushi, and some skewers, but I recommend all of them. They gave us ice cream tempura for my parents anniversary, and it was delicious! We also ordered some green tea ice cream which is something we ate even if our buttons were bursting ? For those who reads to know, Yes there is a nice clean bathroom! Recommendations and reminders: lunch and dinner menus are different and you won’t be able to have any lunch items when it’s dinner hours. U recommend getting a sushi roll if you like them, the ingredients are conveniently placed and you can pick from there, I like the big daddy and one of the salmon rolls they are the best-! To summarize: Great food, amazing servers, nice bathrooms, amazing desserts, and I would recommend this place to anyone-!“
“This is by far the best restaurant I have visited in a while. Great food, and I loved our waiter who brought me a couple of tiny sipping cups so I could try a different wine than what I normally get. They're constantly coming to check on you regardless if it's their table or not. Love love it here. Quiet and friendly who could ask for anything more“
“Pho flavor was very mild and average. Not bad, but not great either. Ingredients were nice and fresh though. I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites of the 420 tots. Such a weird and foreign mix of flavors with a very intense smell. The smell was something like cat food or fish food flakes. Atmosphere and boba were fantastic. Cute place with a little Asian store inside.“
“After much anticipation, I finally visited Premium Matcha Cafe Maiko today, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. Stepping into the cafe on a bustling Sunday, the vibrant atmosphere was immediately infectious. The crowd, far from being a deterrent, added to the excitement, hinting at the popularity of the cafe as a weekend treat destination.Adding to the charm was a quaint pop-up shop, offering a pleasant distraction as we awaited our order. The array of offerings we sampled was a testament to the cafe’s innovative and adventurous spirit. The rice hot dogs were a standout, with three intriguing “half and half” varieties: the classic sugar-coated original, a potato version, and one daringly dressed in hot Cheetos. Each bite into these freshly prepared delights was an explosion of flavors, with the mozzarella’s dreamy pull adding a delightful texture contrast that truly elevated the experience. The inclusion of dipping sauces, particularly the Korean honey mustard, was a masterstroke, adding an extra layer of flavor that had us hooked. The culinary journey took an even more exciting turn with the mixed soft serve ice cream, a heavenly blend of ube and matcha. The combination of earthy matcha and sweet ube was an unexpected delight, offering a unique taste experience that left us craving more. However, the true star of the show was the iced cheese matcha latte. This intriguing concoction, with its unspecified yet perfectly smooth cheese topping, struck an exquisite balance between sweetness and the robust flavors of matcha. It’s rare to find a beverage that surprises and delights in equal measure, but this latte managed just that, earning a resounding 10 out of 10 from us.Premium Matcha Cafe Maiko has carved out a niche for itself, blending innovation with traditional flavors to create a menu that’s both familiar and thrilling. The bustling atmosphere, combined with the sheer quality and inventiveness of the food and drinks, makes it clear why this cafe is a beloved destination. For anyone looking to indulge their culinary curiosity, this cafe is a must-visit.“
“This is the perfect happy hour spot. 3pm - 6pm. We started with a soju and sake. Only true complaint we had was the soju was warm. Everything else was simply delicious. I would definitely recommend the bang bang shrimp out of all the options we tried. Our server was great. She wasn't pushy or over bearing. She came right on time every time.“
“Ate chicken teriyaki and beef bugolgi w rice, dumplings, cabbage salad w asian dressing for 11bucks! Place very clean and staff quick, attentive and friendly. Definitely value for your money and pleasant experience. Worth a trip for a great meal!“
“The cutest little restaurant in San Antonio. Lots of seating indoors and adorably decorated. I basically only order the spam musubi because it's my favorite quick snack and reminds me of home. The lemonade is sooo delicious and I like that they have multiple options ?“
“the food was fresh & delicious, you can really tell the cooks & sushi chefs know what they're doing. sushi & nigiri was so good but the surprising star of the bento box was the tempura shrimp & vegetables. they give you a good portion & the batter is so light & airy, it retains that crispness so well & is not soggy at all. I highly recommend it. the only thing i wouldn't get again is the hot tea, it was fine. the bento boxes are also a really great deal because of the portion size as well as the variety you get. everything we ordered, including the norteño roll, was shareable & if you ordered 2-3 entrées its enough food for 4-5 people easily. there was only 2 of us & we had 2 full boxes of leftovers. the place is a little older & it can use some updates (especially the restroom& serving plates/bowls/cups) but it was still a clean cozy space. i cant wait to go back & try different rolls & the sake.“
“Was craving Asian comfort food but am very picky (I don't do chains for Asian food) so it was a treat to find this little gem in San Antonio. The owners are so nice (the kids are adorable) and very friendly. But never mind the service, lets get to ambiance and food. Although small, the restaurant is very Instagram-able, all the walls have beautiful or interesting artwork. Very cute! The food was terrific. The chicken karaage was crispy and the sauce was a little unique. Add a little of the Japanese hot chili powder and you're good to go! Both regular and spicy edamame had good seasoning and cooked properly (I hate soggy edamame!). For mains, we had the Chicken fried rice which was tasty. My friend who loves spicy, had the volcano heat bowl with chicken and he said it was delicious and wolfed it down in minutes. What I absolutely loved was the Winter special Yoshiya Beef Udon. The beef was tender and the broth was full of umami, hearty and very satisfying. I ate it all and drank down the last of the broth, too. Highly recommend that you try this place. Owners are originally from Los Angeles and their recipes are on par with my favorite places in LA and SF. If I ever make it back to San Antonio, I'm stopping here for sure!“
