“Customer service was great. Host was fast to get us seated(party of 2). They only had one bartender so there was a little wait for drinks. Food was okay, would definitely try some thing different next time. The sliders looked great we saw another table order but we were already full. Would try those next possibly.“
“My friends and I enjoyed our dinner while being in a great atmosphere. Our server John ensured we had what we needed during our time there. Whether that was sharing his knowledge about the menu or simply providing a refill in a timely manner. I would definitely come back!“
“I just wanted to share, we had an amazing vegan lunch at Mr. Ramen. This is the second time we went here, the first time we went was terrible, bad service, waiters on cell phones when people needed help, the meal took forever, etc. This was several months ago.Today we had none of these issues, it was a complete 180. The server, Elizabeth, was a delight, the food was amazing, and the vegan choices were wonderful. The vegan goyza was cooked perfectly!! I got the ramen with the tomato base, with a spice bomb and crunchy garlic and onion added in, the taste brought me to tears it was so good. This is no exaggeration, tears of joy came streaming down my face. My fiance got a non-vegan dish and she loved her dish just as much.I'm so impressed with how much this restaurant has turned around since my last visit. The owner has made over 5,000 bowls of ramen for EACH broth on the menu when he was perfecting the recipe, and you can taste it. It's a Korean + Japanese fusion restaurant well worth checking out. It's so nice having a place with vegan and non-vegan options. We will be back again!! I've included a picture of the menu to show some of the vegan choices to others.Dietary restrictions: Fantastic vegan options!!“
“Best tonkatsu ramen in San Antonio. I've searched far and wide throughout the U.S. for a quality representation to what you can find in Japan. And this is it. It's a modest establishment not quite hidden away in the NE of SATX but it's well worth the drive IMO.“
“After spending two years in Japan it has been difficult to find ramen that is halfway decent. Hero’s has been the best we’ve found! It’s almost like being in Japan ? Love the food, service, and the 5 different anime shows going at any time. Best ramen is a tie between Hero’s spicy miso and the spicy tantan! Only wish the gyoza was pan seared instead of fried, but it doesn’t stop me from ordering it almost every time.“
“One of the best ramen spots in town! They've been around for about a year and I've never been disappointed with any flavor I've tried! Their miso ramen is bomb and the sushi they offer tastes so fresh! Their takoyaki also is godlike so please give it a try!!! Staff is extremely polite and can keep a conversation ?“
“I had the poke bowl ,half rice half salad, and added tuna ,shrimp tempura ,snow crab and all the fixins.I enjoyed it .I recommend it.Parking: There's plenty of parking they also are marked specifically for the restaurant, do to that There's the YMCA next door.“
“It's been a cold couple of days, and ramen is what I had in mind. Daddy-Daughter dinner was @bakudanramenstoneoak. We did miss happy hour, which ended at 6pm.Pretty good business with many people wanting the same thing for dinner. Dad had Lemonade, and I had the Lychee Lemongrass. We started off with the Pork Bun, and Shrimp Tempura. Pork was very tender. The shrimp wasn't what we had expected, and was heavy on the batter. Dad still enjoyed, and ate several pieces. We then shared the Garlic Tonkotsu. Yum! Great flavor with the soup, and chashu was tender. Lauren was our server and did a great job.“
“I live on Oahu, so we have a million Ramen places on island… and this is one of my favorite Asian soups I have ever had. I got the “just chicken it” and added the pork belly… YOU MUST HAVE THE PORK BELLY! The spices are absolutely perfect and it makes the dish.“
“This place is great! I had the Tonkotsu Ramen and a side of Gyozas. Probably best ramen I had so far in the US. Eric G was awesome, he added complimentary charred edamame and was able to answer all of my questions. Service is great and your food comes out quick.“
“The Food is 100 Delicious and will have your taste buds on a Glorious adventure!!! but if you are going to eat there? it In your car ????. The mosquitoes will have a field day on you .So eat in your car !don't leave just when you get your food. I Guarantee!!!!!!!! you'll want to get 2nds or try another Delicious item ON THE MENU.Its a Drive but It's a Hidden ???? Gem .Well worth it“
“The restaurant is nicely decorated with a very targeted audience in mind that aligns perfectly with Japanese culture. All ramen bowls are so good and, if you're feeling adventurous, there are seasonal variances that will challenge your understanding of what ramen is. Give 'em a try and don't be afraid to venture away from your Go-To option, you may be surprised how good some of them are.Service tends to be slow during the busy hours, but that's expected given the popularity of this place. I've had a few minor setbacks with my orders during the busy hours though, so please be prepared to either go with what you get or ask for an adjustment if it's something that truly bothers you.I've visited this spot on several occasions and I always have a good time.“
“We were happy to find this highly rated sushi restaurant open a little later on a Saturday night. We ordered a pot of hot green tea to share. My husband ordered some smoked salmon, yellow tail, tuna, and shrimp nigiri sushi & sashimi. I ordered the Iku Iku roll and Wild Goji Signature Roll based on reviews. I loved both of the rolls and we enjoyed everything! Very tasty and appealing to the eye. Atmosphere was quieter and mellow. Exactly what we were looking for. We have found a new sushi favorite in SA.“
“I really loved the ramen and definitely better than most ramen places i been to, and I love that we can order separately, unlike most places, which makes it easier, and i really loved the spicy miso ramen and the sauce that they used on the egg rolls. I would love to come back again!“
“Skip KONA and drive down the street 4mins from La Cantera to this little hidden gem!! Fresh rolls with great sushi rice and DELICIOUS seaweed salad. The prices are VERY good and the portions are fair and flavorful. This is gonna be from now on a go to place of mine.“
“Just casually making a great bowl of ramen. The broth was full of flavor and spice (aim low on the spice level) and the contrast of the marinated 6-minute egg was really special. Beautiful execution. 10/10 recommend pan-seared dumplings, Hakata Ramen, and Taipei Chicken Curry. Taylor was an outstanding server.“
“This is the perfect happy hour spot. 3pm - 6pm. We started with a soju and sake. Only true complaint we had was the soju was warm. Everything else was simply delicious. I would definitely recommend the bang bang shrimp out of all the options we tried. Our server was great. She wasn't pushy or over bearing. She came right on time every time.“
“Delving into the rich bowls of the shoyu pork ramen at this delightful spot was a flavor adventure. The broth boasted a harmonious blend, the noodles reached the pinnacle of perfection, and the price was a pleasant surprise. However, the boiled egg's lackluster flavor was a minor hiccup in an otherwise exceptional culinary experience.“
“Pho flavor was very mild and average. Not bad, but not great either. Ingredients were nice and fresh though. I couldn’t eat more than 2 bites of the 420 tots. Such a weird and foreign mix of flavors with a very intense smell. The smell was something like cat food or fish food flakes. Atmosphere and boba were fantastic. Cute place with a little Asian store inside.“
“I came in right when they opened a Sunday morning and it was not crowded the whole time I was there. The waitress was perfect. I ordered the TanTanMan ramen. The food came out in a timely manner. Now, on to the food. It was sufficiently spicy and filling. I had a lot of broth leftover but I have a hard time figuring out portioning when I go out to eat. I kind of figured I would have a lot leftover. The furniture… the furniture is totally and utterly uncomfortable. Lacquered plywood with only the benches having some sort of pillow to sit on. It hurts the body.“
“Outstanding hidden little hideaway in a strip mall off 281!! My first experience with a ramen restaurant. One of the owners was behind the counter when we came in and saw my confusion as I was looking at the menu and took time to explain the ordering process and all the special ingredients. I had the crispy chicken in the pork belly broth ramen and it was SOOOO DELICIOUS. The broth was smooth, salty, hot, and well seasoned. The noodles were tender and plentiful. I did not expect so many different toppings in the soup - it was like an adventure eating such a giant bowl of fresh, delicious ingredients! Between the delicious food and the wonderful, friendly service I will DEFINITELY make this one of my regular stops! Thank you for an incredible meal!“
“Pretty cool place. The food was excellent and staff was friendly. It's a nice atmosphere, high ceilings, has outdoor seating as well.My girlfriend's ramen tipped over (our fault), and the staff was kind enough to offer to remake the entire thing for us at no extra charge. We only needed the broth so they gave it to us but verified we didn't actually need the ramen remade. They were nice about us moving tables and made us feel comfortable in our clumsiness.Thank you for good food and a good time!“
“The sushi is incredible! They usually have specials and the servers are all great and efficient. You may have a small wait but it’s well worth it! Make sure you arrive with your entire party to get seated as quickly as possible. If it’s a table for two, you probably won’t wait too long. I recommend the Nama roll or the samurai roll if you like a little spice! The spicy beef ramen is delicious and not very spicy so don’t be scared to try it!They don’t have high chairs so if you have toddlers it’s not a good option for dining in.“
“Food - food was amazing here, got the Garlic Tonkatsu and Bulgogi Bowl with fried dumplings and steam buns. Would recommend everythingService - super fast and friendly, our waitress was quick to get our drink order and take our order. Kitchen staff was quick about sending food outAmbiance - vibe of this place is really cool, anime paintings, anime on tv, and all kinds of decor to fit the ambiance of the room. Sound system is really good too, kudos to whoever was playing the music“
“Can’t say enough great things about this restaurant! We dine here frequently and it’s always delicious with excellent service. The staff is so attentive and really care about the guests experience. Food is always so good- highly recommend!!“
