First time at Acenar and it did not disappoint. I called last minute to make a reservation for my daughter's birthday dinner after having a different restaurant cancel my reservation, told them my story and they did not hesitate help a mom in distress. Everyone was very helpful, courteous, friendly and professional. Our waiter Chris was amazing! The food was very good, love that they have several vegetarian options, there is something for everyone on the menu. The drinks were good as well, best cucumber jalapeño margarita I've had in a while. If you can, ask to sit outside on the patio it has a very nice view. We will definitely be back.

We hang out close to this place on a regular basis, so we decided to check it out. Started with a sangria and spicy margarita. Both were pretty good. Ordered the appetizer sampler. The beef on a stick was really tender. Quesadillas were good too. For entrees, we got the mole enchiladas and pork tenderloin. Great place to eat right on the riverwalk. Our server was great also. Check it out!

This visit wasn't the same as others.... Food was only so so...I ordered a crab tinga, which surprisingly tasted the way I thought it would... it just didn't impress me that crab and tinga should go together. Presentation of the tacos was pretty clean though. We arrived and were seated immediately. I don't know if it would be the same on a day when there is a show next door at the Majestic or during a big river parade, but... we were seated and our server brought us water and took our drink order. Liz stuck with her traditional and favorite chicken mole, and it was good. I think I should have stuck with what I know there too... they used to make a good pork carnitas dish, for instance. I also enjoyed a spicy margarita, it was made well, and has always been a constant with Acenar. They make good drinks. Anthony was an awesome server and took care of every need or concern. If you're going to dine in, you can sit on the veranda overlooking the river, or inside (on a hot day) in the AC. If you're just going to drink the lounge/bar upstairs has a few TVs with sports on. The lounge has a couple of couches that sit across from a bar with bar stools. I would come again, and I probably would try something new... but this time I didn't, and I was left wanting. I'm sure we will come back.

We were seated immediately with a pretty decent table on the patio. Pretty chill vibe and prompt service. And our server was busy with another table so we had someone else come and take our drink order. I ordered the recommended margarita- can't recall the actual name - basic, on the rocks. I asked if it was shaken and not stirred, and he said yes, which is my preferred way to have a margarita, so I was happy. We then ordered the chips and queso, which was absolutely amazing. I loved how fresh the chips were and the queso was so delicious. My margarita came, and I was disappointed because I could tell right away it was not shaken, definitely layered. No problem I'll just stir it up and drink it all the same. I ordered the braised short rib tacos only to find out they were out and this is about 530 on a Friday night, so I was disappointed, but ordered the chili relleno. The food came relatively quickly. My entrée was good. It didn't blow me away but it was good. I had about half of it. I then ordered another margarita from our server...again, I said, make it shaken. He returned with it, and it was definitely shaken, so I was very happy (See the picture). And it was very good. Very smooth and not overly tart. Strong too For dessert we ordered the flan; it came out super quick. It was OK. I was hoping it would be much better than it was. But it was probably splayed and had been there a while. When we were finished, the bill came and we paid it. After we paid. I asked my husband if I could see the breakdown only to find out we were charged $4 for the margarita to be shaken (each time)!!! I think that is completely nuts!! $4 for the bartender to put it in a shaker then pour it in a glass. I've never heard of this up-charge, and I've been drinking margaritas for 25+ years, shaken. ‍ This is pure insanity to me , especially when the first one was not shaken, I didn't say anything as we were basically on our way out and my husband didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but I was really disappointed and annoyed because I really liked our server....but neither the first server or our main server told us about the $4 up charge to have a margarita shaken. Now, I don't think $4 is going to break the bank for us, but it's the principle of the matter to have it shaken for that price, which is ridiculous, and not be forewarned. Not impressed by that.

This Restaurant is right along the RiverWalk, but is a bit out of the messy crowd of the RiverWalk HorseShoe, but it is worth the 5 mins walk to it.Food was awesome, and the view was very nice.We ate in many Restaurants along the RiverWalk, and this was the one we enjoyed the most!

Place is nice, staff is nice and attentive. Food was TRASH. Got three enchiladas and guacamole. Enchiladas were DRY and my chips for the guacamole were stale. That’s 30$ I won’t get back
