Nasty old dry rice , no salt on beans terrible looking “SAUSAGE”! Yes this food was arrested from your restaurant. Sorry I called that despicable sausage a hotdog. Perhaps your local business would do better when you do better

Best taqueria in midtown. Hidden gem but I tell everyone to try it, and I buy the salsa in bulk for my kitchen and home meals

I was going to give this place a 3 at first until the owner came up to us multiple times to check in how everything was good. I can tell he takes pride in his work and business and the food was top quality at an affordable price.

I was going to rate this a 3 bc 1) lack of parking and accessibility; 2) we kept asking for lemons, but the server kept bringing out limes; and 3) when you walked in there was a very strong ammonia-like scent which takes away one’s appetite

1) It’s hard to find any parking anywhere along that stretch of Fredericksburg road so the lack of ingress/egress is not the owner’s fault. There is some parking immediately in front of the restaurant but once that’s filled up I’m not sure where else you can go

2) the lemon / lime thing was probably due to a language barrier, and it’s my own fault that I don’t speak Spanish to help alleviate that issue

3) this was the worst part about this place and why it did not get a 5 out of 5. I’m not sure what was going on at the time or if they had just cleaned or what, but it was a pungent scent that hit u right when u walked in which made first impressions not so good. However u did end up getting used to it so it was not present the whole meal.

Hands down some of the best menudo I've ever eaten! The tortillas were freshly homemade! The chorizo and egg was hoe is supposed to be made. Not dripping with grease.

We rarely venture to this side of town, but we certainly will from now on for some great food!

Adolfo, thank you for the great service and amazing food!

San Antonio's worst restaurant inspections from December

Adolfo's Cafe
Adolfo's Cafe at 321 Fredericksburg Road received a score of 76 on Dec. 3. A city inspector found rodent droppings and ordered equipment be cleaned due to debris and grease.

Prepared barbacoa was being stored directly in a grocery bag, and a container of raw beef was found stored directly on top of packages of raw fish. Other food safety risks included vegetables that weren't kept cold enough and refried beans and carne guisada that weren't kept hot enough.

Cleaned dishes still had food debris on them, and the inspector found maintenance tools stored with utensils used for preparing food.

We got to see the dead cockroaches on the floor and sticky tables - we left before getting attended to - totally disgusting.

We stopped on a whim. Surprised it was so good. Fresh homemade tortillas. A hole in the wall. But well worth it. Amazing find

We are not from the area so we were driving around to find a place that served a late breakfast and found this "little hole in the wall" place. Service was superb and their food was delicious. I had the menudo and was almost as good as my Mom's menudo. Definitely we come back when we are in town again. Highly recommend to check them out!

What I love about this restaurant is the homemade corn tortillas made fresh with your order. Your breakfast will always be freshly made on the clock. I mean, Fresh Place is always clean. The table service is the best. No time to be waiting. They are always alert. The coffee is made fresh every time.enjoy your food ...

As someone who was born and raised in Monterrey for twenty-two years, I know what authentic Mexican food should taste like. Adolfo’s Café has truly impressed me. This small restaurant has a big heart, with excellent food and top-notch customer service. The owner, Mr. Adolfo, treated us with exceptional kindness and personalized attention.
My kids love barbacoa, so Mr. Adolfo served us barbacoa tacos with homemade corn tortillas. My kids were really impressed!
Everything we tried was freshly made, from the tortillas to the salsa, which was bursting with flavor. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican dining experience and great customer service Adolfo’s Café is the place to go.

From the outside it looks a bit dilapidated but I am one to give a place the benefit of the doubt. Once inside the dining area looked a dirty as it seemed that it had not been cleaned from the night before (we were there at 10:35 AM). As we sat down at the table it also looked unclean. The icing on the cake was the huge dead cockroach under the table along. It was pretty gross so we got up and left. Cannot imagine what the kitchen looks like.

On new years my family and I were looking for a restaurant to have breakfast. This was the only restaurant we found open, so we decided to give it a try! The food was delicious, it’s like homemade!! Mr. Adolfo and his employees made us feel like family! My kids fell in love with their pancakes! We are not from San Antonio but we are definitely coming back!!
