it is a cute concept but i suspect the baristas are subject to unfair treatment by management... hope it isn't true but ... whenever i visit, they always seem so downtrodden... i worry for them
So I decided to go to Whole foods Coffee bar to buy a iced coffee. I had googled prior to my trip their hours which stated 8-8pm
So I went at 5 pm and why were the closed??
I drove all the way to find out they were closed. Omg ?
I had lived in San Antonio many years ago and was back in town for a visit, so I had to check out the Whole Foods near the Quarry that I used to frequent (apparently, since I live there a new Whole Foods has opened up in north San Antonio). The location in the shopping area with the Quarry makes it a fun place to visit. The Whole Foods itself has a pretty good hot bar, though nothing special in terms of vegetarian options, and a pretty good selection of various healthy foods.
Closed. Google Maps, do better.
It's closed for renovation.
I really had a great time here.
We had seen Canyon Cafe, located in the Quarry Market, on previous trips to San Antonio but had never dined there. So we decided to try it this time and what a fantastic place! It resides in a portion of the old rock quarry and much of the original architecture has been preserved. Our meal was out of this world and such generous portions that we couldn't finish it all! I enjoyed their delicious fajitas and my husband hat one of the enchilada plates which he also raved about. This was a truly great visit, so be sure not to miss it on your next visit to San Antonio!
The atmosphere is great and for all ages. We went for dinner, around 7pm. The prices were a little pricey but that was to be expected by looking at the place. I got the fish tacos, I meant to ask for soft tortillas but forgot so unsure if that is an option. The fish didn't have flavor and slightly burnt. The sauce was a chipotle kind of sauce which had a small kick to it. The beans were good but could have done without the cheese on top. The rice was sweet. The menu didn't have option for soda, so I didn't ask and just ordered sweet tea. The burger was cooked as asked and was delicious. I wish I had chosen a burger instead of my fish tacos. Their fries were amazing!!!! We ordered the table side guacamole and our server didn't seem to want to make it. We weren't aware they made it...well table side. Aside from that, our experience was okay. Our server didn't give us the best experience. The menu didn't have a big menu either, but it was nice.
Very good, opens at 1100 ... been years since we ate here, but glad we stopped ... same excellent scratch Mexican food we remember,TexMex really, but easy and unique menu ...
The environment, the food, the options, the winery, the cheeses, wow! Wow! Wow! It's pricey but the diversity of products and unique makes this store a must in life. Loved it and will love forever.

Stopped in after our last meeting, waiting for our plane to leave. First we stopped in at Starbucks across the street where it was packed and busy. This was right next door. Very spacious and comfortable. What a beautiful space inside! Coffee was great and they even brought us chips to nibble on. With Christmas music playing in the background I got into the spirit of the season. I should come back for dinner!
We just got take out food but had a beer at the bar while waiting. They give you chips and a mole salsa at the bar (and in the to go bag) which was nice. Food was very good, as was the overall atmosphere. On our list to come back and eat in the restaurant but overall a great first impression.
Couldn’t find it at first, but it is inside of Whole Foods. Not really an ideal cafe ambiance but it’s inside of a grocery store so what can you do?The blended mocha isn’t bad.My boyfriend’s sister had the tropical mocha and she really enjoyed it.My friend ordered a build your own smoothie and he said it was really good. They took FOREVER to prepare our order. I’d say about 15 minutes and there were three people behind the counter. One person was at the cash register, one person was making the orders and the third was just talking and looking at the other two.I would not describe this place as “quick bite”
We’ve been looking for the perfect Tex mex cafe & finally found it. The queso & artichoke appetizer was our 1st hint—-this was going to be delicious. Served with delicious house made chips. Daily chef specials are awesome—the fajita salad with grilled veggies was perfection. White chocolate pecan tamales for dessert. Who could ask for more? Friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere, reasonable prices—it’s all here. Plus it’s at the Quarry—a San Antonio shopping landmark. ❤️
The service and food were equally excellent!! The table, silverware, glasses all appeared to be clean. Cute atmosphere, good prices, and plenty of parking available!!
